Tips on further level advancement

I currently play a 10th level soldier/barbarian. 9th lvl soldier 1st lvl barbarian. i have feats like the obvious fighter ones, power attack, cleave, great cleave, wep focus and specialization with the great sword, leadership and the inspired leader feat, which allows me two cohorts, iron will, because i started with a sub-par wisdom score, and quick draw..i think that is all of them, what suggestions might anyone have for further level advancement, any tips will do!

SOme other "basic" feats that would probably really make you guy rock might be Improved Initiative, Combat Reflexes, and maybe Dodge + Mobility. Steely Gaze is pretty neat, but you need a lot of Intimidate to do it, but Web of Steel rocks, partucularly with characters who like to go it alone in combat against more opponents than they probably out to. (hehe)

If you're 10th level, you have to be encountering Terror by now. Crimson Mist is handy as the 2nd level Barbarian class feature, and you get Bite Sword, which is just cool. Or, for something completely different, a level of either Borderer or Nomad gets you Track and some favored terrain. The latter also grants Born in the Saddle if you want to get better at picking just the right mount. I probably wouldn't let you pick a level in Pirate or Noble unless that reflected what was going on in the campaign (on a boat at sea in the former case, and dealing with courtly intrigue in the latter), and a level of Noble might need some modifying unless you made a really good buddy out of a local lord or sultan. I don't think I can see you taking a level in Scholar, but single level in Thief gets you the ablity to Sneak Attack. Then, you take all your armor off, pack just the weapons you really need and take the feat Light Footed so you can Sneak Attack with that Greatsword with an additional 2d8 sneak damage. (!) Talk about lopping off heads!!!!

You seem very geared exclusively for combat, so it depends on the race and the way the character is portrayed as to wich class to level in and which feats to acquire next.

As been said, advice for you next level really depend on what direction you want to take your character in. Here are some random thoughts, though:

* Soldier. Continuing with Soldier is probably the best bet if you want to be the ultimate greatsword-wielding combat specialist. Greater Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Specialization and Improved Critical will make him unbelievably nasty when he has access to his greatsword (no good when he's without it, though, which is always an important thing to consider in Conan). Continuing with Soldier is, IMHO, a little bit boring, though (I'm a big fan of multiclassing! :) ).

* Barbarian. If you continue with Barbarian up to level 4 you will get some nifty stuff; Crimson Mist, Endurance (which lets you pick Diehard as a feat, which might be fun) and Uncanny Dodge (which is great!). It will also give you more skill points and help to boost your Reflex save (Initiative), but will hurt your Parry defense (which, I'm guessing, is your primary defense).

* Thief. Well, you can never really go wrong with a level of Thief. Lots of skill points and a little bit of sneak attack is great for most characters. It will hurt your BAB and defense a bit, though (getting two levels of Thief might actually be a good idea, that gives you more points in those areas).

* Borderer/Nomad. Well, if you really want to be good in the wilderness you could do this (you'll get Skill Focus (Survival) at level 1 since you already have Track). Otherwise, probably not.

* Temptress. If you want to be able to not just wield a greatsword, but also shake your ass and get the women drooling. :D

from the experience that the gunderman soldier in my campaign has gained i would suggest getting combat expertise and all the 'improved' fighting feats like improved trip and grapple just so your prepared for any situation. other than that i would suggest web of steel, explosive power(from road of kings) and no prisoners(also from rok).

Well, considering how far along you are in the Soldier path it would make sense to stick it out and go for Greater Weapon focus/spec/imp crit.

Improved Initative and Toughness are never bad choices.

You might want to devirsify a bit. Combat Expertise then Improved Trip can be lots of fun (prone opponents are at -4 DV which just means more Power Attack for you! ). Or Quick Draw and Point Blank Shot so you can a)always be ready with a weapon and b) throw stuff at people (remember, for thrown weapons TWF stacks with Rapid Shot). Or Improved Unarmed Strike and Improved Grapple so you can break people with your bare hands.

If you have been investing ranks in Intimidate then Steely Gaze is good to toss some -2 penalties on your opponents. And of course later on Menacing Aura is just too cool

Then again there is nothing wrong with going Barbarian. The good Ref save improves your initative and Uncanny Dodge is always nice later on.

One last thing to remember. Now that you are above 10th level you don't roll you HP anymore. Meanin the opportunity cost of small HD classes like Thief and Scholar goes way down. If you have been wanting to improve your skills then this could be a good opportunity to do it.

Hope that helps.

im a dummy, i totally left out improved initiative and thats something im very proud of, being a fighter with a plus-12 bonus to his init. with my dex bonus, plus I.I, plus the proper ranks in knowledge warfare, im going first almost every round, which means many dead guys by the time its thier turn. also i have improved sunder which allows me to break weapons eaiser

Just a coment on weapon focus and specialisation that are weapon specific. Since the advent of Analyst and Combat master from Hs Finest, which grant far better bonuses to attack if you have good stats, I consider the aforementioned feats a waste, but depending on the character concept some feats are more appropriate than others. And you get to stack the bonuses.

In our gorup we had a turanian soldier with wepon focus and greater focus, and specialisation and greater specialisation, that's four feats, devoted solely to a single weapon, that if you find in the misfortune of not having at hand, you adon't get the benefit. Analyst has Combat expertise as prereq, and Combat master has Alertness, which are good feats for a soldier. Even thou you have to make int or wis checks to activate these feats, they work with all weapons, and get level bonuses for the checks, so I'd go for them. So, the point is that he has a 3 bonus to int and wis, so instead of a +4 with a single weapon, if he makes his checks, he can get a +6 with any weapon at any time. Of course Analyst and Combat master also take time to use (observing your target before you make the checks), but I think I'd rather go with those that focus ans specialisation. Just my 2c.
