Thulsa presents: The Spider-God's Bride and Other Tales

Actually, I am working on something right now, but it will take a while before it sees publication. Whereas "The Spider-God's Bride" is a collection of stand-alone adventures, the stuff I'm working on now is more of a mini-campaign setting (like Ancient Kingdoms: Mesopotamia), where the players are free to roam a large area, and there is a background story to tie together the various locations.

Sounds great. I'm sure it will be amazing.

Lulu hardcovers are printed in the US, and since Lulu hs changed their shipper, overseas prices have gone up. Softcovers for the European market are printed in Spain or so, hence the more civil shipping cost.

No, it does not. Both the PDF and the print version are 200 pages (ie the content is identical). So you have to get (and print) the maps yourself. But that just means that no pages are "wasted" on maps in the main book...

That is good to hear. Funny enough, several of you guys got the printed book before me (even though I am pretty sure I was the first one to order from Lulu! )

After the pdf, I finally got my print copy yesterdays. I'm very pleased with the product, though the green crossed swords cover is really ugly, especially when compared to Gustave Dore wonderful inner cover. All the rest is really excellent, from Thulsa's writings to inner layout, illustrations and binding.

I'm preparing The Daughters of Rahma for next week run. On page 165, Elipa is refered as senior priestess Mahaya in the "Development" paragraph, then as Elipa (among other names :wink thereafter. I believe this is a typo or did I miss something?

I'd like also to have your advice on the location of the adventure. Would you rather make of Yaatana a small Shemite city state unnamed so far, or would you replace it with an already existing city? In that case what would be your choice?

The reason is that Lulu.com had very specific requirements for the cover image (resolution and size), so I just selected one of their stock cover images instead of a custom one. I agree that it does not really fit in with the rest of the book (but "don't judge a book by its cover", as the old saying goes ).

Yes, this is a typo (or rather, a series of typos!). The name of the priestess is Elipa (Mahaya was an older working name). I will correct the PDF for the benefit of future buyers (one of the benefits of electronic and print-on-demand publishing!).

The Conversion Booklet for Conan suggests Sabatea as the location (or possibly Shadizar or another Zamorian city if that fits better with your campaign).

Yes, I've read your conversion notes.
As my players are traveling eastward on the caravan road from Zamboula, I want to place the adventure in one of the eastern Shemite city states.

From Vincent's descriptions in the Shem sourcebook, Sabatea seemed to me an unlikely place to me for the adventure. The city is supposed to be the seat of the Black Ring in Shem, the coven of the Golden Peacock seem quite powerful too and the city is renowned for its torturers. I thought that leaves very little room for the daughters of Rahma activities. I bet the Black Ring Sorcerers and the Priests of the Golden Peacock wouldn't see their activities with a kind eye.

That's why I toyed with the idea of making of Yaatana a new unamed city state, located somewhere in the Shushan/Sabatea area. I know this is non canonical, but many of the Shemite city states mentioned in the sourcebook already come from pastiches. This option allows to leave the city more or less as it is shown in the adventure.

Shushan would be another possible choice. I just love the sentence "where women dress in barbaric splendor". I bet bet Shusahnite women would make wonderful daughters of Rahma!
