I do find it strange that people are so willing to promote a product written by a company that has such a long history of treating both its customers and its contributors so poorly.
Let's be clear here: QLI are one of The Bad Guys who give this industry a bad name. If you buy any of their products, you're supporting a company that has failed (and continues to fail) to deliver goods that its customers have paid for in a timely manner (if they even get them at all), and that has failed to pay its primary contributor, and has also alienated a lot of other people who would have contributed to it through inaction and indifference. Why they are even allowed to still retain a Traveller license given this sort of behaviour is beyond me. Do you really believe that a company like that deserves your support? Or even deserves to remain in business?
So just be aware of exactly what you're supporting when you give QLI your money. If you want to stick your head in the sand and not care about such things then that's your decision, but you really don't have the excuse of not knowing what you're doing.
But if you do give a damn, and want to send them a signal that their behaviour isn't something that you want to see continue in this industry then don't buy it, and don't buy anything else that they produce. Don't make excuses about wanting to buy everything just because it's there, or to complete your collection - remember, nobody really needs any RPG products, and this sure isn't an exception to that rule.
That's all this boils down to - a moral decision: are you comfortable with supporting a company that engages in this sort of behaviour, or would you rather show your disapproval by boycotting them, at least until they got the message and straightened out their act?
And as a point, I'd say and do the same thing for any company that treated people the way that QLI has done. And I really don't care if me repeating this here is considered to be threadcrapping or whining or bitching or whatever - if you don't like it, go read something else.
That's all I'm going to say about it on this thread, but I wanted to make it crystal clear what the bottom line is. How people act on that knowledge is up to them.
