The War Store

WOTC I hope not, it'd become a collectable game!

They took over TSR so have the D&D thing. I think if Mongoose sells, WotC would be on the top of the list since they don't have anything in this kind of line yet and seem to want to do everything in gaming. They'd probably muck it up though - prepaints and random boosters boxes. Gawd... :?

Is Mongoose america on this site also or is it a seperate site? If i d have knwn there was a mngoose america i would have been ordering from them. Can someone clarify this. Also CAN we Get some word on The situation from SOme MONGOOSE PEOPLE ON HERE. Wed Like to hear whats going on.

WOTC better not get it there already on the road to screwing up D&D. and I would buy the B5 stuff I want more fleets I love B5. by the way I was thinking of starting a crusade era fleet I am haveing trouble finding recommend fleet lists and modles to buy and stuff. can some one link it. I will continue to support B5 but if it gose to another company then I will probably not use anything they put out unless it makes the game so much better which I seriously don't think they would especially wizards of the coast they have screwed up a lot of stuff they need to leave B5 alone.

Sale is already up. He isn't kidding about not getting any stock from the distributors, there's hardly anything there.

I have to say, I am really ashamed of MGP. I mean, I feel terrible that I am so into this game and they don't even seem to care to bother to respond to our questions. Why?

It is all the same site.

Mongoose's offices and printing facilities are in the UK. Their miniature factory and warehouse is in the US.

So who would buy it?

ME!

You'd suddenly notice how all Centauri ships are 3 times better than even the Minbari!

oh dear god no!!

(now then, is this a serious response to EP,. where we have never seen eye to eye, or is it an attempt to direct the thread into a different argument to save it getting pulled by mods, or a cheeky chappie response, oohhh who will think what. I've got my bets in...)

Wargames Workshop here in the UK have dropped the miniatures from their website. They had precious few in the store when we were last there, which is kind of sad since they he runs regular ACTA tourneys.

Sweet Jesus, guys, in the name of all that is Holy!

I leave a thread for a few days, and all of a sudden CTA is about to be sold to another company???

Okay, Rumour Control here.

Diminishing stock of current products....

Did it not cross anyone's mind that this has been because of the sheer _demand_ for CTA? Yes, our facility has had trouble keeping up with orders. Steps are already being implemented to change this.

Incidentally, we are planning on quadrupling miniatures sales next year, so you can bet we are making sure the systems behind the production process are solid before we launch into things. . .

Banzai said:
Increasing prices......

Most of which came about as a rebalancing between Dollar and Sterling, along with a few adjustments for a small number of ships that simply had the wrong price point.

You do not, however, mention the ships we _reduced_ in price, for the same reasons. . .

Banzai said:
Poor quality of casts.....

I would hope you have found a vast improvement of late.

Banzai said:
Continuous delay in new releases.......

See issues about demand.

Banzai said:
Hints about "new counters" being "something special" (read, replacement for metal minis)

And this is the point where we give up.

We are looking at a counters project _only_ because you guys asked for them. On the other hand, if their existence serves to confuse the issue of miniatures, it is an easy one to cancel. . .

Banzai said:
Unavailability of stock to distributors......

Demand, issues, see above.

Banzai said:
Major market outlets refusing to accept new orders from customers.....

And again.

Banzai said:
Increasing lack of quality control in correctness/completeness of product packaging.....

Again, I believe you will find this the exception rather than the rule now.

Things of this nature often happen just before
1. Total sales of a product line to someone else
2. Total realignment of a product line in house
3. Total elemination of a product line altogether
4. Major shift in supplier/distributor chain

And you leap to conclusion 1???

In abscence of information from Mongoose to the contrary, and in light of the major changes coming about from online distributors/retailers (some of the only sources in the US), one has to wonder...."Will this game be supported much longer?"

Well, not to spoil any surprises coming with the State of the Mongoose address later this month, but we have very long term plans for CTA.

And if you employ me as a spokesperson and customer liason, I'll deal with all this for you ;-)

Thanks for replying. It is good to hear that things are going to get better. I have stated in another thread that the hobby shop I buy from, online as their is no one in our community that sells the product, has been getting his orders out. At least to me. If it is getting better then everyone should be getting their presents for Christmas. :D

Nope, I didn't jump to #1, just wasn't sure, like everyone else, in face of NO FORTHCOMING INFORMATION.

Hard to play a game if you can't get the supplies. Heck, if you had stock NOW, available to US stores, I'd drop $1k in a heartbeat.

Remember, I'm the guy getting BACK into games. I chose B5 ACTA mostly because I was familiar with seeing the AOG stuff at the local shopping mall! Imagine how a new new player feels, one who has had to learn the entire gaming scene from his FLGS, where he's only gonna see mostly GW products, Flames of War, and Warmachine/Hordes!

Heck, there's not even another player in my geographic region, to include all 13 of the game/comic shops within 1 1/2 hours drive of my house! I've recruited my brother, his friends, and my wife to play while we grow a base at our FLGS.

In the face of fancy steampunk, tanks, or hordes of space marines, it's hard to be cool with paper counters because we can't get lead.

- The fact that we're here means we support MGP.
- The fact that we're even interested means we're ready to purchase just about ANY product to support B5.
- The fact that we're willing to repeatedly purchse the poor moldings and deal with the wrong/missing parts continually means that we're committed to our game, in spite of the lack of six sigma quality control.

If not, we'd be playing some other silly game

Well, you gotta admit, it Was the most palatable of the options he had come up with...
And I, for one, would not have been totally against selling it to WotC. They didn't make DnD into a collectibles game and increased the fan base tremendously. Sure, they lost a lot of the old guard who really preferred the original ADnD, but no big loss, far as I'm concerned. After 30 years, changes were needed.

Just don't ever let WizKids get ahold of it. All we need is "Babylon Click". Or would it be "Clickylon 5"?

Thanks for the answers, btw. Might I suggest an at least Part-time PR guy who spends a little time each day running over the threads for this sort of thing?

And you'll work for Motherships?
Hope you don't mind being paid in arrears!!!

It's good to hear from Matt about this. But I don't see me getting my Christmas presents. Tomorrow is Black Friday the biggest shopping day of the year in the US - if you don't have your product ready now, you've missed the season and big sales. Talk is cheap but I'm still not going to have my Drazi before 2008 and Mongoose will lose that sale along with countless others.

The rumors got out of control because we were trying to figure out a logical reason why things have gotten so messed up. We forgot the old adage "never ascibe to malice that which can be credited to incompetence."

Things are bad for the game here. Losing thewarstore is a big deal.

You do realize that I'm going to photoshop that on your t-shirt in a photo now

I need my sentient rabbit's shirt for the campaign, may add that on it ;-)

Animus, try e-mailing Alex, he's US based so may be able to make your christmas happen.
(to those who may now say you must mail the sales address, bah i say, Alex has been superb with my issues in the past, maybe I should have asked him to personally sculpt me a mothership! ;-) )
