The Lordship tested

I thought the ancients repair criticals at the end of every turn in which they receive them. No carry over at all - crits only good if you get initiative, otherwise they're good to go. Am I wrong?
Yes, you are wrong. Crits are repaired in the end phase of the next turn.

but the Lordship is the sunburst looking one...not the big rock...that's Thoughtforce. They got the pictures swapped in Arm...

My gods. A balls up in Armageddon? Surely not

Did they honestly get the photos wrong?
The fluff in Armageddon describes the Lordship as being like a big rock that hides in asteroid fields and then deploys its mini-beams when it attacks. This is consistent with the photo for it.

Whether that actually relates to the Lordship's fluff from other sources, I can't tell you! But... also don't care ;) Unless its B5W of course, which is canon.

B5Wars has the ships/pictures the other way round - Thoughtforce is the rock-like one, and the Lordship is the spikey one.

Why is it the Ancients take standard critical hits but the Vorlons and Shadows don't?
Ancients who didn't take crits really would be undefeatable. Thats the only thing that prevents them totally annihilating a fleet.

Sack the proof-reader!!!!

Oh, wait.........

We didn't get to see the photos remember, that was the reason for the delay in publishing

All we saw was blank spaces where the photos WOULD go

Are you owning up to being an official proof reader too now EP?

Be careful, that's leading into VERY dangerours territory on these boards.
(Yes, i know the playtesters act as a sort of proof reading group too, but you don't get to read the finished product before it goes to print, so we're hardly gonna start a rant at you lot for this.)

I was always very critical of the number of typos in the books myself but I was amazed at how many got past us in Armageddon. I know that myself and Greg at least went through that book with a fine tooth comb.

The moral of the story is it's easy to knock something but until you try it yourself.....

Did your typo reports get ignored? Or were all the typos you rerpoted fixed, but the ones you missed got through?

I kind of understand it in SFOS to an extent, it was a hefty book, Armageddon on the other hand only had about 3 lines of text so should have been perfect :-)

I'm pretty sure all the ones we reported got fixed, I'm amazed at how many we missed

I'm amazed too, I spotted about 10 in the first read-through, without a toothcomb of any kind!! Its not your job though so I wouldn't feel too guilty.

but I told you we got the ones with the toothcomb

obviously needed a different size comb, maybe baleen filter sized?

On a more serious note - proof reading should be done by someone completely unfamiliar with the text, even if you're as meticulous as Burger, you're going to miss something if you've been reading other drafts for weeks or months...your brain fills in the gaps between what you're reading and what you should be reading!

Hiffano, there was more than 3 lines of text in Armageddon! 4 at least... ;)

Burger wouldn't miss anything - he is infallible.
