The Kuati

I am crazy lol,,but i have to say iv done 18pts war in acta scale also ,it was done on a 8x4 board and was with darkblade, darkblade played league and i took dilgar after a very enjoyable game it turned out a draw.after that game we have been able to fine tune it so games are faster
1. squadrons help
2. reserves can help when space is an issue,we write the location and turn(up to turn 2 max)and composition of the reserves on paper before the game starts.iv had a bit of fun with this rule when i had 5 stormfalcons and 18 warbirds (yes fa scale this time)come on from reserve and run smack bang into 6 wahants ,my fire power failed me the wahants destroyed 3 stormfalcons and around 5 warbirds in 1 volley, wrong time wrong place ,but how many times has this happened in history(not the dilgar /drazi thing lol)

It is a fleet game, and I am not really all that shocked by the thought as much by he time investment. FA scale also makes it easier on the pocket.

I own every fleet except Centauri and the new guys at 10 battleish, so have the ships to do something like that but it would be hard to have enough room on the table to make maneuver matter.

The feel of the game would definately change. So much so I wonder how relevant the information gathered would be to smaller games. Defenses would become largely irrelevant until the game had resolved down to something in the same scale as a 5 War or so fight. Boresights as you say would be easy to arrange for a long period for a number of reasons.

Not saying that such big games would no be fun, but they would have little in common with a 5 raid game, and I would not be able to tell a thing about how ships would fly in the smaller format from watching the larger.

Would love to play in one at some point. Need to see if I an get my crowd to do a big fight.

sorry bud ,but i don't know the first thing how to get the pictures on to the computer.plus i didn't take any, my friends rhog and darkblade are the technical guys.

anyway back to the thread ,the kutai, well im not a centauri player but if i was i would take them ,like all of the new centauri ships it packs a nasty punch.

Well my centauri fleet is now in a certain state of dis-repair, as I move onto a better method of basing my ships, so they are easier to store. All of my centauri fleet is fit into 1 GW figure case [the one with three sheets of foam in] and I've had no breakages to date.

My vorlon fleet consists of 2 heavy cruisers, 2 light cruisers, 6 destroyers, 6 new transports and 12 flights of fighters.

My ISA fleet consists of 2 Victory destroyers, 2 white star carriers, 2 white gunships, 8 white stars, an omega, a tinashi and 2 G'Kariths as interchangable allies, 20 white star fighters, and I have a sharlin as a tara lin, 2 nolo tars and 6 blue stars on the way.

My crusade era earth consists of 1 warlock, 4 marathon, 5 apollo, 8 chronos, 2 delphi and 6 hermes.

When I get a spair 15 years, I'll consider taking photos and posting a link, until that point I'm still trying to get all that painted.

As for games though, I noticed that the reserves idea is very similar to the GW BFG scenario of escalating engagement, but converting that into reserves for ACTA would actually help get the amount of ships on the table at any given time alot I would imagine.

The thing Meglos isn't telling you is that although we have switched to FA scale to faciliate stupidly large games, we actually had fleets almost as big in ACTA scale. It was just that they take up more space on the table and to store.

I will try and post some pics of my fleets shortly.

Big games are fantastic, I'm one of the people who RHoG games with on a regular basis.

I feel they give a whole new aspect to the game.

Yes I've yet to beat RHoG playing one of the huge games but they are so much fun.

The only slight problem with them is the fleet roster pages you have loads of them so I've started to put my sheets in a folder so you can easily flick back and forth to the pages that you need. Stops the sheet taking up loads of room and ending up on the floor.
