Just to let you all know, Terror of the Darklords has just this minute arrived in the office, and it looks sweet!

We have missed the mail today, I am afraid, but all pre-orders will be going out tomorrow.

Aside from some GM advice on pitching games / healing, I have't really looked through it yet. It seems to be quite a detailed campaign, set about 4995 if I recall correctly.

Same as the previous books, it's the richard longhorn stuff. There is a sketch of taron from above too.

Oh, there's a shopping encounter (so prices of various common items is laid out) so forth as you go through, and throughout the recaps of certain events and creatures are done in little square call-outs, which is cool.

Also there's an interesting larger scale fight near the start, and various interesting twists and turns. I've only leafed through it for now, but it does seem to be a pretty rich adventure for the characters to follow through, that does seem to give alot of intersting scenes you could use in other games.

Got mine Tuesday, but other stuff has stopped me from having much net time or reading time for that matter.

As for the PDF give it about 4-6 weeks, But personally I think releasing the PDF Before would help pump sales. I know folks running other game companies who swear by releasing PDF & Book bundle offers.

I know I tend to be more of a pdf-only guy of late, what with groaning bookshelves. iPad has made for awesome pdf gamebook reading. :-)

Exactly! The iPad will be launched here next month. Really waiting for that. I do hope WotC jumps on the PDF / eBook bandwagon as well.

Not a chance WotC see it as a loss of control of their License and unwanted internal competition against their Core Product Line.

I think it has more to do with their adoption of the DDI as the future format of D&D (FWIW that's not a slight against that decision). They reproduce all their material via that service making PDFs somewhat unnecessary.

But we digress... :)

Have all the books been shipped out yet? I purchased the original mega-deal that was available and I would usually have received the novel by now, when should I get concerned? or are more books still being moved out and shipped?

How do you like it beowuuf? Any things that stand out in particular?

I'd say the map of Toran ;) but I'd be biased.

Pete's done a great job on this particular adventure and all kudos to him for building a great story.

Nicely done Pete!

Thanks Wolf! For those potential purchasers out there I've tried my best to emulate Joe's simple, fast flowing adventure style, allowing players to perform some epic deeds and concluding the campaign in a climactic finale. Fortunately Darran has forgiven me for using (and abusing) Master Stormsong as part of the story arc...

The campaign is a memorable introduction for players to the Kai, Sommerlund and neighbouring regions. Each adventure can be easily expanded upon, or even interspersed with other scenarios, to extend its lifespan. Unfortunately there is only so much one can squeeze into a book of this size!
