Mongoose
Ran a game at a local con Saturday, and found myself questioning the supression rule after an EFTF Harrier II dropped a bomb on two Technicals and a pair of Fedayeen squads.
Out of the 6 models in one of the Fedayeen squads. D8 damage dice were rolled. Results were 1,3,4,7,7,8
Three outright Kills, One out of action (Target score met), and One die applied ofr suppression only.
So then I ask myself, can these area effect dice be applied toward suppression? I believe the language used applied to shooting, but a big bomb blast will confuse/disorient just as nicely. However with the current rules governing explosive blasts, you can only apply One die per model, so a single 1 ruins your chances at suppression completely.
What I am proposing is as follows: Whenever a unit that receives damage dice from a shooting action, an explosion or other area effect, counts is damage dice as normal for purposes of suppression, (discounting 1's). However any dice meeting or exceeding a models Kill score counts as double for purposes of Suppression only.
Am I stealing someone elses idea here, or is this a terribly bad idea.
Though process on this one was mostly borne of frustration at having later received a whoopin from a noob with the Fedayeen, and the thought that walking through a pink misty cloud of three of your friends might just negate any 1's that were rolled....
