But apparently at least one site has already been told to remove OTU references (although admittedly it was largely an art site). While you may want to keep "hoping", that's not exactly encouraging, is it?

Just to clarify, I have not been 'told' to remove references to the OTU from Cambrian Moons, but I feel the wording and present flux surrounding the OGL and SRD have 'pushed' me to do so.

I stand corrected then :).

Either way, I hope your site stays up in some form... it's great!

Yes indeed, I finished the site cleansing this evening.

Hopefully, it's really been a case of changing or removing some names, and ensuring game mechanisms are not included, which is why certain ship plans and character profiles got removed.

Story archetypes are common across every genre imaginable, so I only have to be sure they are my story archetypes, and not someone elses.

Of course my website [skaran.net] has a large amount of references to the OTU, which is unavoidable since a large portion is dedicated to a game I ran set in the Banners Sector, which is in charted space. So there are references to Aslan, Solomani etc.

I will be following this discussion with interest before deciding whether to take at least this portion of the site down. So for the moment I am not pannicking, though as I just did a major upgrade of the site I could be classed as "concerned."

Thats good to know, but do I need the Mongoose disclaimer on every page (many hundreds) or just the front of the site and what effect does it have on the old Far Future notice allready there especially as part of it states "The Traveller game in all forms is owned by Far Future Enterprises. "?

Treat it like a Nascar Sponser sticker, just slap it on where ever you have a open space....... :D

I use a blanket one on my cover page, but since I have only the one page I,m not to worried.....

Coincidentally, I asked the same question in the Fair Use thread. Here is the quote:

Anyway, can I change the word "article" from above to "site" so that the single disclaimer applies to the whole thing, or do I need to put it on the various associated pages, too?

Oh, one more. I also have included the disclaimer that use to be required by the Far Future fair use policy. Do I still need that one, or does this one supercede it?

And another. The other main disclaimer on my site is the one required by SJG. Since SJG is still fully licensed, if I had stuff purely for SJG, would I have to use both disclaimers, or only the SJG disclaimer? (I have both so need both/all three, but I am just curious.)

1. I would recommend including it on every relevant page.

2. That is between you and Far Future.

3. Again, between you and SJG.

Traveller is still owned by FFE, there is no reason to change that disclaimer. Just ADD the OTU disclaimer that Matt has provided. Eveything else should be as it was before.
