"Star Wars" in Triplanetary

I was thinking Mars could be Tattooine, the "Evil Empire" is the Third Reich. A German cruiser chases a smaller spaceship in orbit around Mars. What happens if you transpose this story?

What about Mercury as Tattooine?
Nope, got to have an atmosphere to be a Star Wars planet. You know in all six episodes of Star Wars, I have never seen a character in a space suit, the most they wore was a breathing mask inside an asteroid cave, which was actually the stomach of a giant space slug!

Yeah, if they don't need a suit then don't think they would need one for most places...

What little atmosphere Mars has now isn't very breathable, at least to humans.

Though if you wanted to go a little further afield:

Heh. Got a good one. Io.

You'd need to add a breathable atmosphere, but keeping it volcanic might make it (just) warm enough to live on. It'd be dark though (even with a little reflected light from Jupiter), unless you went down the Arthur C Clarke - 2010 road and collapsed Jupiter into a mini second sun, which would give you a new solar system to explore (67 moons/mini planets at last count).

No one makes a sun out of Jupiter, there are no Death Stars or weapons capable of blowing up a planet either. Some other weapons needs to be substituted for the Death Star. There are three habitable planets. The technology other than that required for common interplanetary travel (nuclear reactors, Nerva, and Ion rockets) is the same as today. So if something exists today, Tasers, cell phones, etc. it might be found as personal equipment. If you want gravity on your ship, you have to spin it. So what superweapons might be substituted for the Death Star? Deadly computer virus, Pure Fusion Bomb (No fission core required). Any other ideas?
