Sourcebooks - Compatible with Second edition?

Is the Lurker's Guide to Telepaths an updated version of the PSI Corps factbook, or are they complementary books?
How compatible with the Second edition are the old factbooks? As well as the PSI Corps factbook, I'm also considering the Technomages factbook, Darkness and Light, and the Galactic Guide.

I tried to take some of the useful rules stuff from the Psi Corps book and gave them 2nd Ed versions, but the book is REALLY useful for the history of the Corps.

Lurker's Guide to Telepaths is more of a galaxy-wide look at Telepaths. The different races, their organisations, and the like. If you want the full Teep story, both books would be helpful, but if you are really just into the Psi Corps backstory - go with the 1E book. Just know that the rules in there are not up to date.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Bryan ... is there more of the details than in the Dark Genesis books? I'd really like information on the Psi Cops, Syria Planum testing centre, the rehabilitation centres, and the various Psi Corps black projects

As far as the Technomage book goes, is this book and the updates in Signs and Portents enough, or is there more work to do?

There is a LOT of background and specifics in the Psi Corps book. It sounds like you are gonna want to grab it for story and info alone.

As for Techno-Mages; the S&P article is a good conversion. The book gives you all of the narrative, but the article makes them at least 2nd Ed playable - even though I strongly suggest NOT using them as PCs. They can be real game breakers when given enough rope to hang everyone with. :)

Cheers,
Bry

Many thanks. I agree with the no PC Technomages. These are to be NPCs only ... mysterious and powerful NPCs at that. I think I want to be able to throw them in every now and then ... at least until the players get past Geometry of Shadows. Even then, there may be a few stragglers, or busybodies.

Darkness and Light can be used as is for 2nd Ed games. There was a thread about it a while ago and this was the official Mongoose word.
(And it is a great book too :D )
