Skin Dancing question...

i posted this in the B5 forums, but havent gotten an official response, so ill post here again.

When minbari fighters skin dance, the rule book says

"Other enemy craft may only target the skin dancing craft with weapons that have the Accurate or Precise trait - other weapon are simply too inaccurate to run the risk of damaging their ally."

does this mean that antifighter weapons can NOT hit the skin dancing craft?

Official answers only please. would like to get this figured out.

Thanks!

Ok I'm no official in any way except I'm a Trooper but if you read
carefully the rules the anti fighter are NOT weapons but a trait.
So they are not affected by the restriction you mentionned.

AF is in fact a trait, not a weapon but you do have to "target" fighters with them before you roll any dice. That said, the restriction is against targeting, not attacking so I believe that either interpretation could be justified. We really DO need an official ruling on this one. I believe the intent is that skin dancing is a dangerous thing to attempt and the reward should be comensurate with the risk. That's my opinion but you know what they say about opinions...

It does actually say 'weapons and other defences' (not a direct quote but close enough) in the skindancing description, so I'd take that to mean no AF allowed.

he asked for official responses only and Matt has said he said he looks for unanswered stuff first.

But that aside, the controversy is based on on the exact wording. The rule is quoted above and does not refer to defenses, but to weapons.

Well since it has already got unofficial responses I mght as well throw my interpretation in too.

"Other enemy craft may only target the skin dancing craft with weapons that have the Accurate or Precise trait" - Anti-Fighter is not a weapon that has the Accurate or Precise trait, in fact it is not a weapon at all, therefore other enemy craft may not target the skin-dancing craft with it.

The text I was referring to is at the start of the description of what effect skin dancing is supposed to have, not the part quoted in the initial post.
