Should the ISA box set change?

This is what they have in the box set.

This box set includes;

2 x Victory
12 x Nial fighters
10 x White Stars
36 x Starfuries


Why I need two Armagedon class ship? I beleve than they could change one Vivtory class and include 1 White Star Carrier,1 White Star Gunship and some White Star Fighters

Remove a Victory, yes. Replace it with White Star Carrier and Gunship... not so sure about that. Maybe they look ok in person, but the photos are pure arse... :?

the Carrier is fine if well painted, the gunship looks a bit, um, err, grinny? I think Mongoose need to look at a lot of the boxed sets and re-release them

More Nials are definitely needed in the box. Enough to fill the White Stars that are in there, please...

More of "full fleet for one box" but less of a bargain money wise.

Good for those who don't need second victory, not so good for those who actually do use it(not everyone plays 5 pts raid. Some folk DO play 5 point war, 3 point armageddon or even 5 point armageddon )

well, people who wanted to buy seconds of a type of ship can buy one individually in that case. I think the box sets should provide a core of ships to form a fleet.

for the ISA, I'd suggest

4 Nolo'tars, 4 white stars, 2 gunships, 1 carrier
4 nials and enough white star fighters for the carrier
sell the victory separately as a box set with enough fighters to make a full load (like the poseidon box set)

Replace 1 VCD yes, but personally I still hate the whole concept of the WS carrier and fighter. The Gunship I dont mind so much but the model is currently arse so no on both counts there. I WOULD like to see the box set rereleased after 2nd ed though with some NoTolos and Bluestars as well maybe.

Oh and as stated enough fighters to fill all craft concerned and maybe some extras on top of that. Especially it would be nice to have some TBolts as well as furies?

5 point armageddon is playable if you up the level of ships you field

If amount of ships stays ~same as in 5 point raid or slightly up(which you can do by upping the level of ships you choose) then it's not bad at all.

Also depends if any of the new ships are going to be included - a Sharlin varient was mentioned and of course the ranger frigate - so it may need flyers as well?
I presume many box sets will need adjusting for 2nd Ed

Mongoose have been reviewing all of the boxed sets with a view to complete fleets for each race (5 point Battle in most cases) with enough fighters to fill most (or all) bays.

The exact compositions will depend upon the results of 2nd ed. playtesting and I'm sure discussion like this will help to show opinion on what would be desirable in a boxed set.

thats good news, alas I don't need any more boxed fleets, but certainly late EA has to be changed, removing the nemesis, the narn fleet would be nice if you got a couple more skirmish or raid ships as it's ballte heavy. the Brakirir has the same thing could maybe take out an avioki for a halik or two, and the Minbari box... well,

No gunship (Dunno about in 2e but why would you use one now? They are less survivable than the WSC2)
Add WS fighters and enough Nials for the WS

I would say YES, but wait until after 2e has been released, and then look at all the fleet box sets and make adjustments then, its a bit silly and maybe more than a touch shortsited to redo it now.
