Shipping...what?

I must be getting this wrong. Perhaps some one can help me out. I just went to order the Federation transfer set from the Mongoose Store. The cost is £4.99. When I went to checkout, my order total including shipping was £9.99? What? I'm only ordering a sheet of transfers and you're charging the same amount of the item to post them to me? I'm sure i'm getting this wrong. Is there an option i've missed in the checkout process somewhere?

The shipping ignores what sort of item it is. I'd recommend emailing. If it can't be sorted out and you're in the UK, I'll pick the sheet up for you at Club Mongoose and put it in the post for the cost of an envelope and a stamp.

Erm, I don't want to drag this on but it already is kind of flat rate isn't it?

Shipping is currently charged at a base rate of $3 for orders in US Dollars or £3 for orders in GB Pounds, plus 10% of the order value in the US or UK

The above is what's quoted on the shipping info page. My maths is not great but that tallies up as follows;

£4.99 for the decals + £3.50 or thereabouts for postage = £8.49.

Now i've just gone back to the checkout and i'm quoted the following for postage

Standard Shipping
Standard £4.00

So that doesn't even agree with your own shipping info, and this takes the total for my order of a sheet of decals to £8.99.

Like I say, the impulse has passed but thanks for the reply.

I emailed complaining about the shipping and that it didn't match with what they said too. I never got a response back. After about a month or so later, I just ordered the decals and the Federation CC. Oh well...

Okay, we have been experimenting with the shipping rates (and trying to get the web site to comply, but I digress...).

Anyway, we are now on fixed rates, and this will be updated in our terms & conditions later today.

Basically, if you order from the UK or US, you will either be charged a fixed rate (£4/$8) or, if you order enough, be offered free shipping.

For anyone overseas, we cannot (yet) offer free shipping (we are working on that) but, again, you will have a fixed rate. If you are in Australia or New Zealand, you are _really_ going to like our new rates

We'll be making an announcement about this a little later. However, thanks for bringing this to our attention, just what we needed to knuckle down and fix this!

You're welcome. I still won't be ordering the decals via mail order though. I'll just have to pick them up at a show at some point. Thanks for addressing this, though.
