Revell Babylon 5 model colour

I got a revell b5 a while back, and made it, but never could findd the right colours to go with the decals. can anyone tell me which colours work, preferably using humbrol paints, because all my greys are the wrong colour - usually too dark.

Valen.

The first problem is that the old Revell USA paint line is toast. The second is that they never bothered to list the paint numbers for the B-5 kit.
Having said that, I've dug out my older Humbrol paint chart and came up with these suggestions;
Artic Blue Metallic - #52 Baltic Blue, metallic
Raw Sienna - #83 Matt Ochre
Dark Gray - #32 Dark Grey, matt - #125 US Dark Grey. satin
Dark Earth - #29 Dark Earth, matt
Light Ghost Gray - #127 Ghost Grey, satin
Intermediate Blue - #48 Intermeadiate Blue, gloss
Neutral Gray - #76 Neutral Grey, matt
Purple - #68 Purple, gloss

Didn't imagine you'd need any help with the black or white :wink:

Here are a couple of sites with paint conversion charts;

I also found a couple of online shops in the UK that carry the new Revell colors;

There was also a chap who did a decal sheet set up to show some of the Cobra bays being open. I'll have to dig around my old files and see if I can find it. Please feel free to contact me off board if you have any questions.

Best regards,
Don

thanks for the numbers, i'm going into town tomorow anyway, so ill pick up the grey and try it out thanks. and as concerns black and white, would yo use matt or metalic colours?

Valen,

I would suggest using matt or satin for the black and white on the station. For it's size and scale, I doubt you'd see much in the way of metalic colours. It would look grey from the distance you'd have to be to see the real station.
You could also use Humbrol gloss varnish and make it as glossy or not to suit your personal taste.

Drop me a line off board, my e-mail is in the profile.
