Release dates what are they good for?

Was in one the gaming convention in Essen yesterday.
(For those who do not know the "Spiel" in Essen is the biggest gaming convention in Europe.")
There I was desperately trying to get a Ka'Bin'Tak without any succsess.
I was also told that despite what Mongoose says neither the Ka'Bin'Tak nore the G'Vran are already released.
So why do we have release dates, when the date is never the actual release time? :?

well someone has G'Vrahns at least from this forum, although maybe from the mongoose open day. Drop the sales team a line and ask for actual release to distributors date, the Trolligan for example is still not available to my LGS!

yeah there was stuf ffor sale at mongoose open day. its the only way to get things on release time, anything else read 4-6 months (or more) after official release date

For minis its restock time from the USA, why they not have a UK based foundery is beyond me.

For books I dont know been waiting 2 months for the RQ SpellBook

I have reverted back to RQ3rd ed, far to many books and supplements for the Mongoose version!

would make sense to have a UK foundry, if you keep mentioning it enough, they may open one

It is. Whether or not a distributor orders enough is another question.

Put another way, the Ka'Bin'Tak and G'Vrahn have been available for quite some time. If you order them from our web site, you will see them promptly.

Alternatively, get your local store to badger their distributor - these models _are_ available.

You haven't - or rather, you may have _pre-ordered_ Spellbook, but it has not yet been released (going out this week). Remember, pre-ordering means you get the book as it is released, but no earlier.

ok, for the minis would it be good for a second foundery here in the UK matt, I for one would go for the job if there is a SW UK foundery

but then my LGS does want some, and their Distributor is telling them they can't get hold of any :-( and the distributor in question afaik is one of the bigger ones in the UK!

yeah same with my LGS, cant get hold of anything like the new releases, or even as far back as cant get hold of blue stars.
