I concur with this. any command ship should be able to support an admiral. Whats the lowest level command ship, is it raid, eg avenger, balvarin? of course this still hampers fleets like the Narn where there lowest is battle, but it DOES make sense for an admiral NOT to have to be on the most expensive ship. in the Gulf, fleet admirals have been onboard british carriers, despite the much bigger and more powerful American carriers being in their battlegroup.

in our campaign, ever one has chosen their fleets and THEN they can choose an Admiral who MUST be placed on a battle ship. something simple that means if an enemy battleship arrives, you KNOW it may well have an admiral on, but you also know that they will be one battleships worth of FAP down shipwise.

Think the Drazi and Dilgar have skirmish but it still makes so much more sense........... :) Also a good reason to make a couple more Command variants for a few races :)

Earth have Avenger / Hyperion Command, Centauri have Balvarian, Brakiri have the Brokodos, Dilgar ? Skirmish or raid, Drazi - Jumphawk,

Do you still double the PL of the ship?

the narn have a player varient t'loth available in I believe your supplement ;-) (or a first ed varient in mine and morgoths narn supplement)

not in the initial fleet selection we didn't as we gave everyone an admiral (essentially getting 11 battle FAP instead of 10) in an actual game I suspect that yes we should as they can give some pretty good abilities.
I need to go design my drakh boss actually.

Seems sensible :)

I think the rule I mentioned earlier is a nice simple addition - its not a problem as such not using Admirals but seems a waste not to?

Another note on admirals could be like this:

Narn unique admiral skill, To the death, The fleet under the command of this admiral will fight to the death, ships under the command of this admiral may not withdraw from battle. Any ship under the command of this admiral will automatically pass any CQ tests to ram!

So rather than adding something new your just adding more character to existing empires.

Nice :)

If you are bored I did a new unique Admiral for most races (Earthx2, Minbari x2, Vree, Gaim, Psicorps x2, Rangers, Centauri, Raiders, Brakiri, Narn) in my supplement -easily nicked and used in normal campaigns :)

a simple solution for campaign gaming and refits came to my mind.

A system to select a refit is cool one instead of rolling dice.

What about the following:

Before campaign starts, print out the refit tables for each player.

Everytime a refit is chosen tick it on the sheet. If it is chosen again
in this campaign simply add the amount of ticks on it to the Exp cost.

Simple and efficient.

I suppose I will have to make the time, Since you included my belovade Corp!

Hpefully you will enjoy - even if the Corps is a little different You may even prefer their War level Omega............... :)

wow that ship really would kick the hell out of the shadow omega lol.

Also I would say Inspiring commander is going abit ott in the Init.
And I would change powerful telepath to bester adds +1 to the psi score of a vessel. As that would work better saying it's a flat value you can say how he boosts the potential of other telepaths present.

Same with lyta cept +2 to a max of 6 obviously.

Sadly some refits are sooo much better than others - boosting your Sharlin to +1 stealth / tripple damage beams or making your Drazi ships /Warlock etc non boresight, interceptors on White Star series, Regen on Drakh vs rubbish such as "time in orbit".

Would have to make, as Burger suggests, cheap and expenisve refits - perhaps as well as your suggestion - which is interesting :)

Like the idea of Racial Admiral abilities. Maybe if you offered that more players would consider them in fights.
