also to stay competative youd have to produce the lot on show in under 3 days or your not playing on the same playing feild in wich i bought them. if you wish to compete with factory you got about 20 mins probably lol.

like i say people say they can but so far nobody has proven it. i paint armies for a living and stuff like this will put me out to pasture.

Why would I want to copmpete with the factory when speeding up will just result in a drastic drop of quality?

I paint for a living as well... but the fact that the quality of my work is so far above that of the BF:EVO models means I am not going out to pature anytime soon.

Hey, I recognize those painted humvees from the TAG website! You painted those? Good job. You have good camo painting skills, but can you paint digital camo though?

I've paid about $5 US per fig. for painting alone on Orcs of a similar (although admittedly about 10% lower) quality to your's.

There must be huge demand for painting over there. It's hard to even come up with painters here. But mini gamers are also kind of few and far between on a per capita basis

A 28mm model costs anywhere from £9 to £45.

wowzer, that must reduce order quantaties, as uk players prefer armies done over units ive found.

i went by the thing if you dont make enough to be vat regestred its not worth doing, and like byram said hand cramp is a killer lol.

I can paint the various SS camo patterns from WWII so I am pretty confident I could paint digital camo although I have not had the chance to paint any yet.

I personally feel most painters seriously undervalue themsleves just to try and get business not to mention the south Asian paint shops which although cheap cannot match the quality of a good painter. People may say they can, but a good painter will be able to outclass them completely.

I wouldn't say there is a huge demand over here... I have customers in Canada, America, Australia and Europe.

Now, any suggestions? Just a tip or suggestion...

As much as people harp on about "magic wash" I personally find it very good for adding a quick layer of shading to a model.

"Magic Wash" essentially makes inks and washes work how they are meant to work. The ink flows into the recesses and shades the figures. The "magic" part just eases the flow of the paint and holds the pigment in place whilst it drys.

You can find some useful information here and here that describe how to mix up the dilutant for magic wash and how to use it.

Just adding a quick wash of black or brown over the figuyres would help define the details and add shading.

One tip for using magic wash is when you have applied it to a figure lie he figure down on its back. If the model drys standing up there is always the chance that gravity will drag the liquid downand leave with figures with heavily inked legs and boots...

Sadly there are no BF:EVO events in the future for me as my budget is stretched by many other games and is confounded by the reltive expence of the EVO models based on the fact I would just be re-painting them.

You want to buy (Glances over to the bottle on his desk) Johnsons and Johnsons Klear floor polish in the UK.
Its the same stuff as future, just under a different name.
Honest to god, having just recently become a convert I'm so impressed with it!
And 2.40 for 800 mls is cheap as chips!

You want to look for this product. It can be found in most supermarkets. I bought mine in Morrison's. But you can get it in ASDA and Sainsbury's as well. Look in the polish sections not the kitchen cleaners sections. (They are quite seperate sections as I found out...)

Just take a look at pretty much all the BF:EVO figs that have eyes painted on and you will see the "'Holy $%#^" look.

This article shows a rather easy way to paint eyes that takes away having to be uber neat...

Although I will admit the article does not do a good job of showing how effective it can be mainly due to crappy pictures.

It essentially boils down to... paint the eyes first because its easier to paint around the eyes with flesh than paint the eyes after the flesh.

A quick drybrush may well "pop" the details but if not done properly would look arse. In my opinion applying a single colour ink is easier that trying to get a good finish with a drybrush.

I have been using basic acrylic black (my current black is the Privateer Prees P3 black). Although I also use GW's black and brown ink.
