Question regarding High Guard naval careers

The "careers" in High Guard are often branches of the same career (except of course if you gto from a subsector navy to the Imperial Navy, for example). So how is mustering out handled? Lets say you have a character who spends 7 terms in the Imperial Navy, one in Flight College (no rolls for that), 2 in Crewman, 3 in Flight, 2 in Command and 1 in High Command (and misses survival in that one). Does he gets rolls after leaving each branch? or just after his total Imperial Naval career is over? If he gets them after each "career" then we have another disconnect between regular chargen and "advanced" chargen.

In Mercenary, the careers seemed to be different "careers" within a merc unit, but in High Guard, the emphasis seems to be more on different departments within the same career,...the Navy.

I went with waiting until the end of the Navy career and then selecting rolls from all applicable tables.

I used the limits of terms/rank to limit how many rolls were allowed on a given table, but let the Player select after that.

So, using your example:
College: 1 roll on any applicable table
Crewman: 2-4 rolls on the Crewman table (depending on rank rolls)
Flight: 3-5 rolls on the Flight table (rank again)
Command: 2-3 rolls on the Command Tables
High Command: 1-2 rolls on the HC tables.

BUT, the character is still limited to 7+Rank total rolls, but maximum numbers are imposed above. So, the character couldn't make all rolls on the High Command Tables.

Does that make sense?

Yes, it makes sense. It would be nice if HG had been more explicit on how this was supposed to be done, but your way works.
