I used the Mi-Go once in a Conan session.

It was fun.

The Mi-Go controlled a small mining colony somewhere in Shem with the help of some strange organic sensor.

A large group of soldiers (these shem special soldiers) was sent by the king to look there, because the colony did not send any new metals.

Shortly after this, the heroes arrived.

First, they were in the colony. Here they had a very bad feeling, because all people were like puppets.

Then they were looking for the soldiers, and found almost all of them dead on a field. But no sign of their enemies. (Well, the soldiers had killed quite a lot of the Mi-Go they encountered, but the Mi-Go body vanishes shortly after death)

One soldier, dying, told them about ghosts which came from the mountains.

Then, the heroes found a way into the mountains, finding more dead soldiers, and more and more they realized that these "ghost" were retreating.

It was very interesting. The heroes found some strange technologies, like a mining machine whick looked like a giant cubus, and disintegrated rock to nothing.

The Mi-Go used electric weapons and ice-cannons, and at last the leader of the Mi-Go had to flee by some strange teleporting device.

The Heroes had to flee also, because some sort of self-destruction had begun to work.

Well, at least the had still one of the small electric guns. Maybe one day they might found out how it works.

Interesting thread!

Actually, I am writing a sourcebook for using d20 Call of Cthulhu as the game engine for an Hyborian Age setting. I like it more than Conan d20 since it is easier on the front of rules, and it is more flexible, since there are no classes, but characters are more "freeform" (i.e. Conan need not be a 5-class character to be described reasonably well). I took the equipment lists from d20 Conan (with some modifications), the races, and one or two feats, but all the rest is d20 Call of Cthulhu, including magic. The Defense Bonus option is used for "pulp" action.
I altered the skill system too, to avoid bothering with skill points.
Characters can choose a number of skills equal to 8+int modifier. The skill ranks automatically increase as level increases (the effective ranks depending on whether the skill is core or noncore). A feat allows acquisition of skills (core and noncore), and improvement (from noncore to core).

During playtesting, I found that this system is way faster than d20 Conan, and grittier, too. Combats tend to last a fraction of the time of the other system.

For example, these are the converted Conan classes:

Interesting...that works. I think that the ConanD20 thing is also so that you don't have to have a bunch of other rules to run the one game if that's all you wanted to do.
