PANTHEONS prepping for the printers

Exciting news!

The fellows at BAT GRAPHICS have thrown in with me and are doing gorgeous work on PANTHEONS. Looking forward to a December-January release. However, this will be a VERY limited release. Probably only 25-50 sets. It will be a Limited Edition 1st Printing [numbered].

Still looking for someone interested getting a free copy by helping us with the scenario writing....

We now have a website of our own - just getting started. Drop by and say hi!

I'll respond on this tread too:

Could you explain some more about what PANTHEONS is, and what kind of scenario you are looking for?

Even better - sneak peek images of a couple of the new cards in prototype form will be posted on the website in the week or so. Drop by!

Trifle-

If you'll email me directly, I'll contact you directly, :-)

cehendrix@sbcglobal.net

If the rest of us email Trifle indirectly (say through Banned Beetle), can he tell us anything indirectly? :?: :?

I don't have him duct-taped up or anything like that. ;-) If he wants to spill beans, I won't stop him.

But I am still looking for an interested party who might be interested in getting their name on a published game [even if it is only a Limited Edition run] for the measly price of helping rewrite/edit/upgrade a couple of short scenarios.

Glory goes cheap these days! :-)

Traz is looking for someone to update some RQ2 scenarios to MRQ rules. As I'm more of a RQ3 fanatic, I'm not the ideal candidate for the job. The game looks good though, and I've allready signed up to buy one. If I knew the MRQ rules better I would surely do the job.

Quoting Traz on the card and dice game:

"PANTHEONS itself has nothing to do with RPGing. It is a stand-alone game all by itself. It is a version of my AVATARS game system - there are many versions, the first of which happens to be PANTHEONS, based on RQ. Think of it as twisted interactive YAHTZEE meets a bizarre form of Pinochle/Spades for group play.

It's a dice and card game designed for 3-10 players, and only gets better the more people that play. Appropriate for the entire family, ages 10 and up.

Six specialty dice
173 card deck
Scoresheets
Rulebook w/charts

The dice and cards show 32 different icons which regulate play [in the case of PANTHEONS, the icons are the runes]. Each player represents a Deity and begins by creating a personal Pantheon (represented by 3 runes) and selecting a Demigod [used to steal points from the other players]. Each player has unique play abilities and victory conditions. The object is to reach your maximum Attribute Points first so that you become the pre-eminent Deity and thus rule the ultimate Pantheon [win the game]!

There are 5 categories of Attribute Points [Worship/Sacrifice/Stature/Influence/Power] and the more Demigods you have, the more Attribute Points you can accumulate by taking them from your opponents. Every turn, each player rolls the dice and draws/plays cards to earn more Points. Cards can be used initially for Points, or saved to send Heroes on Quests to transfigure them into more Demigods, or the cards can be used directly against your opponents to steal Attribute Points. Playing time is 2 - 4 hours depending on how many players you have."

[Triff getting out of the duck-tape]

In addition for use in the card game, the specialty dice will be used for a new type of character in RuneQuest, which Traz have rules and intro scenarios for. It is the intro scenarios he would like help with having translated from RQ2 rules to MRQ rules (as far as I understood). Should probably be done by some who used to play RQ2 or 3, and have now gone over to MRQ (is there any such heretics here?).

PANTHEONS is chugging along! Go to the BATGRAPHICS website-

http://www.batgraphics.co.uk/

- click the GAME DESIGN GALLERY link, and you'll see a half dozen of the card mockups and card backs. THere is a forum on the website to vote and discuss your reactions. Please note that the graphic designer is just tossing in random runes on some of the cards at this point and still experimenting with fonts - final details still to be worked out.

However, this will be a VERY limited press run and I have been asked by a few who have already laid claim to the few copies being produced, to let let them know when anything viewable is available. At this point, everybody can have a voice in the final look of the product - we're open to opinion.

Hey
Im one of the staff at BatGraphics - just to say that we are still very much in the concepts stage at the minute, and we would very much welcome any views or opinions on what we are doing. These can be viewed at www.batgraphics.co.uk and opinions left in our forums. We have been working closely with Traz and are following his leads where possible, upon information supplied and discussed amongst us all.
Progress has been good and in a very short space of time alot of work has been put in to bring the game up to a point where it would be available to the public for the first time. We hope that by making the concepts available, even in an early form, we may gage views on the work we are doing and as such improve the game even further, to the benefit of the gamer and all of us involved in the design and creation process.
Since starting work with Traz we have made leaps and bounds on making the game a viable product, from its initial concept, and placed it online on our site and forums, where Traz also has his own area (check it out!). We would say that from this early stage the signs are good and we hope that we can create a great gaming experience for all to play.

From here on in, we hope that Pantheons goes from Fantasy to become a reality for everyone!

Glad you like it Trax, we hope that we can get plenty of opinion on what we're doing, so we can create the best game system for everyone. Keep an eye on the forums and the main site, as ill be putting more stuff up for the gallery soon and plenty more in the forum. We need as many opinions as we can get, so keep em coming!

Thanks guys, much appreciated. :D
