Other Factions?

Are there any plans to introduce other factions to the game?

I was thinking that the Russians would make a good choice.

You can find this discussion on other threads but, basically, Russians, US Army and African Warlords/Militia have been rumored at.

i think once the MEA stuff is released to the stage of a ballanced force with lots of options then the IDF will make an appearance.

as part of the EFT we have germans then french on the way.

thats this year anyway, next year who knows.

thing is the more popular the game the more investment mongoose can put into it.

It will likely be next year before a new faction comes along, but the current short list is Russia, African Warlords, US Army and the IDF.

Maybe not quite what they used to be though...

They have just had a bit long without a war against a traditional army, just lots of fighting people with AKs and rocks. Hezbollah with AT-14s were a bit of a surprise.
To be fair we fight a decent sized war every ten years or so to stay match fit, and have regular UN/NATO deployments in the meantime and we can militarily defeat Taliban/insurgent forces but our inkspot strategy in Afghanistan has largely failed and is being abandoned by the incoming US commander of NATO forces there.

Different vehicles and aircraft. I think it should have been USA from the beginning and combined the Marines, Army and Air Force into one faction. Having just Marines on their own was an oversight:

EFTF - Multi-national Force
MEA - Multi-national Force
PLA - National Force
USMC - Corps?

I guess they could be saying the USMC versus the whole of Europe is a fair fight. Bring out the US Army so it can combine with the USMC into one USA National Force.
