Hate the kung fu chick sequence. Nuff said..

Nice look, but the kicking screaming is a major turn down for me...

"have you ever been with a warrior woman"?
Hoban Washburne ;)

I'm married to one and I STILL wouldn't want to see her in that role. The Idea of that weapons interface was retarded...

You "see" the tactical situation without having to read and intrpret displays, you strike and the ship fires. Yes indeed, very cool. I suppose that they could have had her sit in a chair in a dark room and intimate that all of this was happening in her mind, but then that wouldn't have been too exciting on screen and we would be whining about how dull it all was. Yes?

and you still waste energy and get tired very quickly leading to a decrease in ability.....

and we all do still whine about how dull LOTR was, dull as dish water

The idea was great. What we saw on screen may not have been its best application.

What also puzzled me about the kung fu interface is that wouldn't it limit the weapon system's output to how fast you could kick or punch. It seemed in lotr that each kick or punch equated to one burst of fire. Fine on a slow firing weapon system, but lets see her fire a minigun. Also instead of designating a target once, she basically had to keep on pointing to something to keep the ship firing at it.

Anybody here watch Saint Seiya?
In life action? Good luck...

@ David: Can I just love the heart and mind and still hate the screaming and kicking?

Byron. Easily the worst. From the speeches the hair, the gushing the inexplicable switch from pasifist to nutter from the revelation that the vorlon's made telepaths. He alone is the reason that I didn't buy season 5. Upon borrowing a friends copy I realised that he was bad enough to taint what was otherwise (lenier's derrangement aside) quite a good series.
Admittedly never been a fan of Miss Scoggin's either.
They really are the only two that grate for me, but dear God did Byron grate. It made you sympathise and support Bester like nothing else, they just didn't kill him quick enough.

regarding Lenier's derangement, going back and watching the rest of the series in marathon showed me that they were working up to it for a long time...

I loved to hate Byron. But only because he was "stealing" lyta from zack!!!

Legend of the Rangers has plenty of bad points, but the one that stands out to me is the close up on the bad guy during a confrontation on the ranger ship - all his spikey hair bits look like the foam rubber they actually are...

the character of Warren Keffer was a concession to the network. I didn't hake his character so much as all the scenes that had to be contrived to put him in. The briefing area, the macho pilot stuff, the speeches, you didn't see any of that in season one and there was plenty of action with fighters.

I didn't like the plotline of the soul hunters. I liked seeing good old "Blank Rej" (kudos to anyone who gets that reference!) in action again, but it just struck me as a bit silly.

I did like the Techno-mages, Galen definately, and I think that the Crusade series could have been so much better if not for many of the reasons already mentioned. The out of order episodes really messed things up. they should have kept the first uniforms!

Unrequited love, primary source of pain in b5 (OK, maybe in real life too). What pains more is that we don't see the lovesick ones find anybody else to love and be happy with.

Marcus died, Lennier went wacko, Zack finally settled and marry... B5!!

I'm actually glad that they didn't tie up all the loose ends where that's concerned. Shows that do it always seem so contrived...

I agree. Those love affairs were quite well executed. Just sad, true to the style of b5 drama.
And y'know what? JMS hinted that the conclusion of the Lennier arc is even sadder...
