Ok Then Least Favourite Character / bit

Are we talking about characters that we hate? Or are we talking about characters that were so poorly done that you wish they had never been in the show?

These would be two VERY different lists.

Characters that were so poor that they should never exist:

Ninja theif from Crusade
Lorien (for main reasons mentioned)
The Man in the Middle (talk about a time wasting character)
Byron

That's Justin right? The guy on the Shadow planet who tried to talk Sheridan into playing along?

I thought he was quite good. A bit superfluous maybe, but another cog in the Shadows scheme. Morden was Bad Shadow, Anna was Good Shadow, Justin was Logic Shadow. I thought he fitted in quite well.

Burger is right here. He gave me a sense of the Shadows overall scheme. It was played rather nicely too.

Nothiing wrong with Justin - in IIRC fact all three of the named Shadow emmisaries were friendly calm, reasonable people (even if Anna was a bit different)

Morden was less happy after he had a nuke dropped on him.....but all those who asked him to arrange something all got what they wanted - doubt the Volrons can say the same - True I Morden was probbaly less happy with Vir's request working out..............but hey you only live twice............. :)

The concept behind Justin was fine. It was how he was done that was so lame. He had lots lo buildup and foreshadowing and for what? So he can spout a bunch of stupid sounding crap about the length of mini-skirts, tell Sheridan he isnt worth kissing, then dies along with a huge number of Shadows from Sheridans bombs.

Waste of time and a poor character. Also the logic of the character is dumb. He is going to try to explain to Sheridan a man who almost watched his entire race be destroyed in the Earth-Minbari war that starting wars and "stirring" things up just to see what happens is good?

I think that the character was meant to be "easygoing" so as to put one at ease with him, make the Shadows seem almost "folksy". Do you think that a "heavy" would have been more persuasive to Sheridan?
As for the "stirring things up" argument, I've seen less likely ones in real life. Besides, who said that the Shadows were wise? ;)

If the idea was easygoing then that is even dumber. Millions if not billions had already died in the Shadow War and he wants to chill and talk casual with Sheridan?

Next in line is where we all sit down with Osama Bin Laden and chat about the NFL. LOL

I just think the character had all this buildup for nothing at all.

Talia ended up the same way. She had all this massive buildup and then due to reasons outside the show they had to dump her quick and permanently.

Does anyone else get reminded of Mr Morden by Yuri Orlov (Lord of War) - they would work well together :)

sorry random comment..................

cant believe no one has mentioned the red helmet aliens :D
that whole episode was pretty crap in fact and they just added to the crapness.

Basic sales technique. Put your mark at ease. What has transpired before isn't relevent when using it. Noted that he tried to rewrite history from the Shadows perspective. They were trying to sell Sheridan on an idea.

Least favorite character?

Well the chick from Legend who was doing the kung fu targeting system. For such a cool idea that would have been better if she wasn't doing it but the ship is so weak and old. Don't make sense.

Didn't like Byron too much.

My wife didn't like Lyta Alexander.

I didn't like the guy from TKO or the episode TKO from the first season for that matter. Anyone remember him?

I liked the targeting system fromLegends. It was a really unique idea. You may have objected to the way she really got into it. I like it.

I suspect that Byron wasn't designed to be "likeable". Sympathetic, frustrating or worse, but never likeable.

Women seldom like other women ;)

I'm drawing a blank on TKO.

Just long enough for Pres Bush to dump a multi-megaton nuclear device on his head while jumping into a huge crevasse...

You mean Walker Smith, the ex-heavyweight boxer?

@David: unless they're lesbians :P

Well its not neally as bad as the soooo dire Voyager boxing episode!

So what was good about the Grey 13 filler episode and in particular the laughable monster - I figure you will find something ? :)

Yeah, I didn't like how that whole part of the episode was concocted. The transfer of control of the Rangers to Delenn and Marcus fighting Neroon was the main reason for that episode. It was painfully obvious that they realized after filming that part that it didn't take anywhere Near long enough to fill the hour-long block of time and so, Grey 17 went Missing...

Oh yeah. It made me laugh! Guess they couldn't afford a cgi monster so the put a man in a monster suit and went for it. Not as funny as shooting it with bullets set off with live steam!
Leonard Pinth Garnell would have been pleased.
