Ummm, i was just wondering if when i purchase SST mini's if they are already like painted. Can i put them together straight out of the box? Do i have to do anything special? I'm not so much interested in the game as in creating various battle scenes, i kno that i have to create the environment myself but do i have to paint the bugs or infantry?

At the moment you have to assemble and paint everything yourself.

But in the future you'll be able to buy them pre-assembled and pre-painted.

ooo well is there anyway that they can be psinted before i get them by the company or send them somewere to be assembled? how soon do u think that we'll be able to by them pre-assembled and painted?

The huge grand plan for starship troopers is the release of starship troopers evolutoin, where the miniatuers will come prepainted, assemlbed, bases, and in a box, with no random booster packs, and you can see the models before you buy them the way they are packaged, with the rules inside the box. Of course, your in for wait as there are production issues, but hopefully, we in the fan community, hope they will sort it out soon. If i were to give a conservative guess I would say there will be a release by or on January or February of 2008.

Just an after thought, if you want minis now, most local game or hobby shops would do it for you for a cost and charge, but this could be pricey.

I guess you are more of a collector than a gamer.
SST is a miniatures game aimed at wargamers. This does not mean Collectors shouldn't be allowed it.
As it stands, SST is a wargame in which the miniatures come unassembled in metal and/or plastic. This is the hobby side of the game. Miniatures are built and painted to the users preference, allowing their armies to be more personal.
MGP have told us all that they will release the miniatures in plastic, but they will come assembled and painted to allow games straight from the boxes. This will also attract collectors into the Gaming hobby. A lot of the miniatures that did very badly or got a lot of complaints will get new, better looking versions.
MGP already do an 'ultra-modern' pre-painted game, Battlefield Evolution which is really a tester to see how paint-jobs and models will be done for SST:Evo.

Hope this helps.

thankz for all your help guyz, i'll be looking forward to the Evolution. Personally it would save me alot of trouble...
