Next Generation Warships

And I think, that the Hermes is not bigger as the chronos.

Well that's true, but I always thought that was a little odd. It was the only EA ship of its size with a jump drive in B5wars. RichBax produced the idea that there are two Hermes ships, one basic transport with no jump drive and the priority one which had jump drives bought from the Centauri.

Plus always remember that a jump drive is an expensive piece of kit. They can't afford to fit it to lots of escorts. The Hermes is a "Priority" transport after all, which come to think of it seems out of place in a military fleet anyway (I bet they only put it in because they had the model).

But with the new fleet list of EA, I beleve than the Chronos should have 2 variants, An Assult Chronos at raid level and the Command Chronos at Raid level. Think about it, Ea fleet list lost few good ship and with those two type of Chronos the Ea fleet list will more balance. :P

Wouldn't this just leave us with three different variants of the Chronos at the same PL? And if the any of them were better than the others we be back to the some ships not worth taking argument...

Why not just gut a chronos hull, add a jump engine give it a 1AD beam turreted and some anti fighter, stick in skirmish level so we have a viable Skirmish choice that fits with the other ships available at that time. Think of it as a rapid interdiction vessel, settling border disputes without resorting to a full assault.

the Hermes is a medium spacecraft 100 to 500 ft long.

But that's about the same size as the White Star and Sheridan stated that he had never seen a ship so small with a jump engine...

Major boo boo for whoever designed the Hermes.
Although in fact in B5wars the Hermes was an HCV same as the Chronos, where as the White Star was a Medium Ship. It was still the only EA ship of its size with a jump engine however.
