Newbie Blog - Tale of a new Gamer to B5 - ACTA

Looks nice...do not lose all the detail on the body if you can aviod it. I made that mistake with a few figs I did. Looks very cool if you can pick some of it out with metals or 'colored lights' type stuff.

I will deftly avoid commenting on anyone's 'speed' here and just say well done on another superfast paint job. Let's see it you're this fast with the reinforcements box

Hey!

I always beleive a Woman should get her pleasure first!

After all how much can a Bicardi & Coke cost?

Yes I do have to paint the EA force up quick why? Because I want to buy some Narn and or Centauri a choices choices

Hi All,

Another quick update. I have finished the EA Nova - I think. I am thinking about high lighting the grey some more - I will have a think about it.

Your blue coloring REALLY makes it stand out. reminds me of all those real time strategy games on the PC, where all the units are the same but have parts that are team colors! Starcraft, etc...

I am trying to keep a coherancy with the whole EA fleet so when I field them on a table they all look like they fit together as part of the same team. I didn't want to get too detailed as I am trying to get ready for gaming with miniatures and from 3 feet away you probably wouldn't see it anyway.

I am looking at getting another Omega and adding antennas etc to convert it to a Command Omega from SFOS

Just a warning that fluffy is currently giving himself a hernia trying to paint up a reinforcements box in the same time he did that Nova and Omega

Hi All,

Sorry for the lack of updates. An old back injury from the Army laid me up for a while

I have now finished assembling all the EA reinforcement boxed set as well as a Centauri reinforcement boxed set - what hasn't been painted is now undercoated.

Currently I am working my way through a Hermes and the 3 flights of Thunderbolts from the box.

Here is the Avenger completed:

I liked the Avenger - No tiny turrets to superglue to my hands.

I love the Hermes models but I hate the fins. They just need a bigger recess to allow the flaps at the back to get a better glue bond. (I have thought about leaving the flaps off rather then have them break off later).

Anyway I am waiting for more stock to come to Australia from MP to expand my fleets.

I have had a game of Narn Vs Centauri (me) using Counters and only ships from the reinforcement sets with a mate. He thoroughly enjoyed it as is keen for more which is great.

The first game was just to introduce my mate to the game and I won't report on it other than to say I rolled alot of 6's on the critical table against him. I like that the critical tables aren't unbalanced for this game.

Anyway I am tired and rambling so I will have another update for you all soon.

Happy gaming!

Hi All,

Another quick Update.

I finished the 2 Oracle scouts and a Hermes for your viewing pleasure.

They have been given a coat of GW Hardcoat so are a little glossy in the photos.

Hermes was a bastard to put together with the little flaps for the engine but I got there in the end. Pity cause it is a cool model and I like the stats for them.

I am working on the Olympus ships now the mold is extremely poor in places and I am a little disappointed. Fortunatley I have fixed up the worse stuff with green stuff (I shouldn't have to though  )

Onto the photos:

The Hermes:

Left to paint from the EA reinforcment box is the 2 x Olympus & 1 x Hermes and to finish the 3 flights of Thunderbolts.

As always I hope you like and Happy Gaming!
