New Troligan Stats

The new troligan looks completely different to the old troligan which has naff stats. Can we use the new troligan stats (if they are any good) with the old model??

I'm certainly planning to... my old Troligans aren't even constructed yet due to their stats being pants. I'll be damned if I'm shelling out more money to use a re-statted ship!

although why LBH asked matt that I dont know cos we all know LBH only uses counters :)
Cos LBH, like me, likes to ask very awkward questions even if they are completely irrelevant to his game ;)

Guys, how strict have we ever been with CTA models? :)
Not strict at all. Although I do think you need to start being strict about base sizes. We definately need some sort of standard rule there.

An FA model, or even a counter stuck onto a large base would look ridiculous ;)

Yeah. But it kind of sucks when a ship can't fire because of the size of a base. I'm just waiting for someone with a ship with 30" guns to bring a 29" base.

Thanks guys, I got the troligans in the Minbari reinforcements pack and have of course never used them as they are useless.

I presume of course that the new stats are in fact better not worse???

well in 2nd ed it is toughened up it is supposed to be an "armoured cruiser" after all
I imagine the S&P article will be almost identical

In all honesty I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times base size has ever affected the ability of my ships to fire or be fired on (except for fighter attacks buy theyre allowed to overlap now.

Smaller problem compared to FA models getting gaming advantage against full scale models...

Nobody should get gaming advantage just because he's models are smaller.

I doubt BF:Evo players would be amused if I would try to play against them with my 1/285 scale modern models...Those tanks could hide behind small rock on table! And somehow still manage to go through them...

Well the FA models are for Fleet Action engagements!! Thats why they were modelled in that size.

So? Why should they get advantage in ACTA?

Different sized models shouldn't get advantage in game...Otherwise I'll pop in with 1/285mm sized models to next BF:Evo tournament I could attend . Wonder what would be look of opponents...

I am really beardy with regards to my bases. I use small GW ones for my Strikehawks, and even have them at different heights so that my ships can overlap

But then they are supposed to be pack hunters. You can't fit in much of a "pack" if they use large bases, so the base size really should be changed to a small one for them. Plus some of them came with small bases in the blister!
