Since the aliens are all strong telepaths, I'd deduce that the tentacley thing is not one of them. If it were, it's just take over Sheridan and disarm the bomb. It was probably another slave race used as a guardian (although not a very good one!)
Sure, the vorlon's portal was destroyed, but if these beings are so advanced and can give the vorlons the heebie-jeebies, then why cant they build their own portal so they can come get us?
Well - it certainly matches the theme of them; the One is basically portrayed as the B5 version of Cthulu.
I suspect he just has Major Character Plot Immunity.
You mean apart from the fact portal must be open from BOTH sides as explained in the movie
They have gate open on their side. They are just hoping somebody to open it from THIS side so they could come in
Its been a while since I've seen the movie, I was going on memory. However, that doesnt quite explain things, so riddle me this, tneva82.
You say that they already had a/ the gate open on their side, and were hoping someone on our side would open it to let them in - what did they have open on their side? The Vorlon's portal? I thought it ended up in hyperspace, not thirdspace, so how could it be open in their universe? Unless they have some sort of analogue to the vorlon's portal which they built in their own universe, and leave open in case someone in our universe builds a portal to connect with it? In which case, how did the thirdspacers even know the Vorlons were going to build a portal that would allow them through to our universe???

They discovered our universe, and built the portal just in case. They could have waited millions of years for some race to become advanced enough to build a portal.
