New Olympus rant

I am peresently starting an early EA fleet and got a blister of the new Olympus corvettes and I have to say they are really ugly. Ok, no EA ship is really nice as they are intended to be bricks but the two small Olympus are worse imo. Apart from that there were mould lines from which one could cast a flight of fighters, I could not make out any fine details.

I don't hope the new Hyperions are cast in this "quality". And 12 bucks for two of them in this quality is too much.

Mine...OK. Not great, but OK. I've had a Hyperion which was a lot worse.

All the new mini Olympus I have seen were great. That means nothing though...

Mine were good too, hardly any flash at all.

They must be really hammering that mold, all four of mine were near perfect.

I have been disappointed generally with the amount of flash/halo on the ships. I've had to break out the Dremel in some cases. The old castings that have an AOG copyright I understand, but we had a fellow get the new Gaim fleet and it was like the mold had shifted at the seam about a 1/16 inch. Played merry havoc with his prep work and time.

Fortunately, it's the Gaim, a good ink wash, some aluminum highlights and he's done. :lol:

well it is mongoose and don't forget they did say they are a publishing company not a min company. It shows in there figs quality is about zero. But i love the show and the game so I break out my SH** eating smile and modeling tools and go to town. I just wish they would lowwer the prices for the quality. The Gaim are new and the owns I have are very sad.
