New Kai discipline: Unarmed Combat

Sabbak

Mongoose
This discipline is based mainly upon the “Monk” class of the DD3.5 Player Handbook.
Please forgive all the mistakes, English is not my mother thongue and that’s the very first time I try to produce something is this language! I am aware of the difficulty to read something full of mistakes but if someone is interested in correcting the mistakes and sending me back a “nice and corrected” version, I’ll be very glad! :D

Lone Wolf – new Kai discipline: Unarmed Combat

This new discipline allow the Kai Lord to fight with his own hands (and knees and feet alike) like "lethal" weapons. These unarmed attacks are becoming more and more powerfull as the Kai Lord advance in the discipline.
The Kai Lord is unable to use this discipline with any armour (even light armour type) as he should be completely free of his movements.

Tier 1
Unarmed attacks inflicts lethal damages. The Kai Lord can hit with his hands, feet and knees and can, for example, make an attack roll with his feet when carrying something within his arms.
Base Combat Skill (special category - unarmed) : +1 to the “normal” Base Combat Skill
Unarmed damage : 1d4

Tier 2
Special Dodge. With successfull Reflex Saving Throw against an attack that has reduced (half) damages in case of doging success, the damages are completely avoided.
Base Combat Skill (special category - unarmed) : +2
Unarmed damage : 1d6

Tier 3
Unarmed Storm. The Kai Lord can inflict one attack more this round (using his best Unarmed Combat Skill attack if he has more than one). Each and every attack this round is penalised with a -2 malus.
Base Combat Skill (special category - unarmed) : +3
Unarmed damage : 1d8

Tier 4
Unarmed Storm II. Like Tier 3, the malus drop to -1 for each and every attack.
Magical Hit. Unarmed attacks are considered magical weapons.
Base Combat Skill (special category - unarmed) : +4
Unarmed damage : 2d4

Tier 5
Unarmed Storm III. Like Tier 3 and 4, the malus drop to 0. Therefore, the Kai Lord has an extra unarmed attack using the most elevated score.
Vibrating palm. Once a week, The Kai Lord can inflict a devastating strike that can kill his opponent whenever he wants.
If struk, the opponent must make a Fortitude Saving Throw (DC 10 + 1/2 Kai Lord level + Kai Lord WIS mod.). In case of failure, the opponent die when the Kai Lord decide…
Conditions: the opponent must be not immune to critical hits, only one attack per opponent is admitted and the hit must inflict damages
Base Combat Skill (special category - unarmed) : +5
Unarmed damage : 2d6

Enjoy!

NO.

I'm not overly fond of the concept (could not just add some brnach to wepon skill+mastery?), and I like theeeexctuion even less.

Tier 1 and 2 are usless, teir 4 is a little silly, and tier 5 screams "I'm a munchkin!"

Obviously a don't agree with you silentviper!
Tier 1&2: I don't find useless to strike lethaly an opponent with the bare hands without having the -4 malus...
Tier 4: I don't find "silly" that by the way of the Kai God and the continuous training, the strike is considered "magical". Ok, if you prefer "good" instead of "magical", I won't complain. The idea is to make Kai Lords deadly opponents even for Vordak-like creature that have Damage Reduction (but NOT when hit by "magical" or "good" weapons).

But, in fact, I must confess that I don't TOTALY disagree with you...

This was a first attempt that NEED modifications.
I've made a new version of this discipline including de Magnakai tiers. For exemple, in this new version the tier 5 was made less effective and has moved in the tier 5 of the MAGNAKAI discipline.

Enjoy it or not, but keep writing objective critics!

Cheers!
