New FAP breakdown please

Poi

Mongoose
I've got the rulebook, but someone told me the Fleet Lists have a more detailed breakdown.

Please post the new one, so I can compare it with the Armageddon version..

ship 1 level lower = 2 ships
ship 2 level lower = 4 ships
ship 3 level lower = 8 ships
ship 4 level lower = 12 ships
ship 5 level lower = 18 ships
same with going higher, just reverse it, hehe.

i don't think the breakdown it self has changed all that much, its still break the point down into two, but if you break it down further you have to have one of the origional brake points still, eg 1 war down to two battle, but you could brake one of those battle points down so you have 1 battle and 2 raid.

That's not the rule. The rule is, if you split a point, you can only re-split one of the resulting points. So for example if you split a War point into 3 Raid, you can only split one of those raid down to skirmish.

No, you said you have to keep one of the reuslting ships. So using what you said, I could split my War point into 3 Raid, and then split 2 of those raid (keeping one Raid) down into 4 skirmish. Which is wrong.

i was just going with to the next one down, so you would need to keep one as there'd only be two resulting points from the split, ie 1 war>2 battle>1 battle, 2 raid>etc

I think I could stand to see the FAP breakdowns simplified. It ought to be easier to see from looking at the number of ships and PL what is a legal fleet and what isn't.

Ease of use and flexibility are kind of mutually exclusive :?

You don't even want to know how hard it was to code my FAP counter for Fleet Designer!!! If you saw the code you'd scream. Now there's the twofers to contend with... ARGGGHHH!

right, after checking both my main rule books and fleet book with a fine eye, i actually misread the going down in the MRB, it does say 6, do apologise, however i would say that it is a typo as the actual fleet book states 8 going down, so i would go with that. there seems to be less typos and wrong bits in the fleet list than the MRB

which is true.
however in the fleet lists you actually buy a certain level then buy up. for example you have a battle point that you split down to 4 skirmish points and then use 2 skirmish points to buy a raid ship.

As it was released later I agree.
You mention other discrepancies between the two. What else have you spotted?

if its not a typo its just odd then as all the others are the same, 4 points down is 12 as with 4 points up, same with 5 points being 18 and 2 points being 4. then take the fact that the fleetlist book states 8 both ways, you can sumise as much.

Why the change? This appears to add to an already confusing situation.

now that's just silly. see, we got into this mess when they started allowing multi-breakdowns. I'm beginning to miss 1E's simple breakdown!
split a FAP once and be done!

poi, not between the two rule book but in general, eg the missing/replaced page, which i might add didn't happen to the rulebook's from MH07,

from the way i read the rulebook and fleet list for 2e, it is simple, i did't see any mention
for example you have a battle point that you split down to 4 skirmish points and then use 2 skirmish points to buy a raid ship.
you either go for 1 point buys x ships or break it down to 1X>2x>1x2Y>etc
not 1 battle > 4 skir >2 raid then back to what ever
