Flag bridges are meant to coordinate the actions of multiple fighting ships to ensure that small groups or large fleet engagements are as effective and deadly as possible. They are the command & control heart of any multi-ship engagement.

A flag bridge is required for any group of 10 ships or more to coordinate their offensive and defensive actions. Flag bridges come in three standard sizes - small, medium and large. They are designed to take the sensor feeds of all ship an sub-craft sensors and collate them into a single master plot that determines the location and threat level of all enemy activity. The officer commanding the group/flotilla/fleet can then make informed decisions about where to assign his units to accomplish his/her mission. The compartment will be equipped with the highest level of armor allowed for the TL to protect the command crew during combat. Inside a Flag bridge are multiple workstations, repeater plots and other display equipment to keep the command staff updated during combat.

There are three types of Flag bridges:

Small - 24 Dtons, 50 MCr. Contains 10 workstations, 2 repeater plots, 4 Dtons reserved for systems. Designed to coordinate small ship groups or flotilla's of 10-24 ships. These are typically found on destroyers, light cruisers or on light carriers. Typically scouting, commerce raiding or other light fleet actions are coordinated by small Flag bridges. The highest ranking officer is usually a Commodore.

Medium - 46 Dtons, 100 MCr. Contains 40 worksations and 4 repeater plots, 6 tons reserved for systems. Designed to coordinate multiple flotillas or small fleets from 24-100 ships. This size Flag bridge is typically found on a heavy cruiser, battle cruisers, smaller battleships and assault carriers. The types of missions controlled can include planetary assault, fleet combat, and system defense. The highest ranking officer is usually an lower-ranked Admiral.

Large - 80 Dtons, 165 MCr. Contains 66 workstations, 8 repeater plots and 14 tons are reserved for systems. Designed to coordinate the largest fleet actions (100 ships or more). This size Flag bridge is only found on the largest battleships, dreadnoughts and monitors of the fleet. They are designed to control the largest fleet actions. The highest ranking officer will always be a senior Admiral.

A Flag bridge will have 1 workstation per 2 Dtons. For example, a small flag bridge will have 10 workstations with 4 Dtons reserved for communication and other sensor and computing gear.

The command bridge from High Guard already fills this roll, though it's only available in an 80 ton version.
