New Character Sheet

I have created a character sheet, it will evantualy be a 2 page sheet, anyway I've posted up the front page to see what you think. I've tried not to alter things too much, let me know what you would like to see on page 2.

The file is called - Traveller Bio

That’s pretty good... although you didn't put in a place for careers, I guess that will be on the 2nd page.
I have been working on a Excel Character Sheet with pulldown lists for skills, careers, titles, augments, and auto calculation for age, UPP, Homeworld, UWP, the characteristics chart, augment and armour characteristic bonuses.
I am having a problem because pull down lists cannont be done on more then one column at a time. This makes it difficult to do the armour and weapon sections. Besides, I haven't decided if i'll put weapons on the Sheet or not, I want to keep to one page.
When it is done and play tested I'll post it for you all to try.

I like it.

I like that you moved the armor to the bottom, made it look prettier, and extended the characteristics block past 15.

Is there a way to make your PDF editable? Reason I ask is that I like what you have done, but have a few changes to make due to my own house rules with MGT. I would love to use what you have made instead of having to make a sheet of my own, would just like to tweak it a little for my house rules. :)

As for page 2...

Keep it non-action stuff. What I mean is, it's nice having the combat stuff, skills, etc on the front. The back is for non-action stuff used between encounters. I don't want to flip my sheet back and forth during combat. The character bio and finances in my opinion could be moved to the second page if you needed room for something more action-oriented on the front.

Another equipment section. The front equipment block could be used for personal, carried, equipment. The back equipment block would be larger for stored equipment, ships, vehicles, etc.

Careers section. I like having details, per term, of what the character did before. Kind of a character 'history'. I don't mean a large, drawn-out worksheet used only for character generation, but a simpler version with room for details for each term. It could still could be used for CG notes I suppose, and would be better then the very small career block on the official character sheet.

Contacts/Enemies/Rivals block.

Hi all glad you like it...

Infojunky - It's been a long time since I ran Traveller, and did everything pretty much from the little black box, but I can't recall the personnel paper/TAS form, got a link maybe I could cook something up for you.

Xoph - yeah the plan is to put the careers section on the back and give it more room for detail.

Sturn - the sheet is made using Paint shop pro, so is not editable, but I like to think I'm a nice guy so if you want me to, I can make some changes for you.

I'm hoping that the final sheet will be form fillable, I'm having problems with my 8 year old computer and really need to invest in a new one.

Cheers

You and me think very much alike, :D all the immediate stuff a player needs access to will be on the front and background fluff will be on the back. The equipment on the front will be re-labeled Personal Gear, and a full Stowed Equipment list will be on the back. Cheers for the feedback.

It's in Charts and forms for sure.....

Hum.. will look for a link.

I'm looking for a character sheet that puts the primary emphasis on the careers - term by term.

In my view, the characteristic chart is alright, but too much space is wasted on the skills - many of which are not used by individual characters. Personally, I'd just have an open space to list skills - taking up less than half the space currently used. I'd also like room for some of the combat details listed, and entirely seperate sheets for starships and homeworlds.

Thanks for the input TrippyHippy, from experiance I have found that people generaly like skills listed on sheets, when the original listed them, but like you I feel it would be cleaner and save space, but I have a couple of players who write like doctors, so it makes life easier for me when I have to check their sheets over. I do plan on doing sheets for Starships and Homeworlds, if you have any surgestions I'll try and use them.

I've just posted up a CHARACTER GENERATION WORKSHEET. It's at the link in the first post.

Nice Mike. This will be helpful for sure.

I don't want to hijack this thread but I have a character sheet I drew up during the playtesting that is usable without change for the published game.

http://www.thecourtjestersstudio.com/files/traveller_CS.pdf

I normally try and do all dorts of funky graphics but decided to keep things simple for this sheet.

No probs, TrippyHippy was looking for a sheet like yours.
For me I like the original sheets stat block, lets players just tick off damage, as I've already said I also like skills to be listed. All in all yours is a nice sheet thanks for sharing.

Very clean and clearly designed for play. Nice.

Hi Charlie (and everyone),

Where did you get the elongated Traveller logo? I can't find one like that but would sure like to use it.

Also, would you mind if I post a character sheet as well? It's a redo of the one in the core rules and I'd like to get some opinions.

Thanks! :)

@Charlie:

What file format is your sheet in? I'm having trouble opening it...

p.s.

I plan on throwing a character sheet up also. The one in the book does leave something to be desired.

It's PDF, if you want I can E Mail you a different version. Not been on in awhile If others want to use this thread to post Character sheets then go ahead, it saves clogging up the forum with multiple posts on the same subject.

Cheers

Here is my download page containing my character sheet and a sample ship sheet (Scout) that I'm toying around with. Both are PDF files. Friendly suggestions are welcome!

My Traveller Download Page

The background images were obtained from the Imperial Museum of Art page on the COTI forums (COTI page). The character sheet image was created by postname kharum1. The ship sheet image was created by postname magmagmag. The Scout image inset within the ship sheet is from BigBadRon. I'm assuming that, since they are free downloads, it is okay for personal use. I realize that these images may give the sheets too much of a busy look for most of you but I like it.

Personally, I am looking for a sheet that is one side, one page. No flipping at all required, as there's nothing on the other side to look at. Of course, I would want it editable, as I would like to be able to save it and print it out later for Pregens for Gen Con, so a PDF form or an MS doc file would be desirable for me.

If all else fails, I can use the same basic format I used for last year's CT games at Gen Con, making changes as needed to support MGT.

That being said, I do like the work that has been posted to this thread, and I appreciate the effort that people are making and providing to the Traveller fan base. You guys rock with your generosity and support!

With Regards,
Flynn
