Mongoose
Evening (PDT) all,

Over on the SJG GURPS Traveller forum I was contacted by someone concerning Mongoose 2300 AD. Unfortunately, my current 2300 AD is from GDW so I went to check on the purchase price. I signed into My Account checked the price and without having a handy currency converter I clicked on the US flag. The page changed showing the price in US currency, I clicked on add to wish list and was sent to another log in page. I entered my email address, password, clicked on log-in and got the message invalid user name or password.

As long as the default is for the UK I can use My account, unfortunately I keep getting the invalid user name or password when selecting the US.

Any ideas of what I may be doing wrong or are the web gremlins messing about?

I had this problem when I first signed up. It appears that the US and UK servers are completly different. So since the defualt MGP site is uk, id you didnt change to us your account is UK.

So if your problem is the same as mine (as in that was the first time actually purchasing so didn tnotice it before)
You will need to create a seperate account on http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/us/customer/account/login/

Notice the /us/ after the URL.

If you have ordered stuff before, and this is a surprising problem read my answer as " I dont know but you could start with these guys:
sales@mongoosepublishing.com.

Hi cfirpi,

Thank you for the reply and suggested method of resolving my issue on the site. I did purchase material a while back in 2009 and I don't recall this issue. I have contacted Mongoose sales and I am waiting for a reply.

Thank-you again for your help

This is why i love the MGP Forums, if you post advise/info that does'nt help the person, they still treat you like a human being when they reply.

Thanks snoredog (snrdg)
Sorry my advise wasnt all that helpful.

I beg to defer within your info/advise is helpful, I'm hoping that the powers that be can make changes so Yanks like me don't have to have multiple accounts.

I guess snoredog is just as good guess sonardog for the abbreviation snrdg.;-)

Morning (PDT) again cfirpi,

Just to let you know your suggestion about having to open an account on both the UK and US sites is right.

Thanks again for the help

No prob man. Just happy you were able to get it figured out. Guess they seperated the servers a few years ago and not enough of us americans were buying, so the problem was left to the wayside.

Hope you enjoy Mongoose 2300AD.

If I had a little more income and less out go I'd be buying more gaming material, books, and music. Hopefully by this time nest year I'll be able to afford more stuff, right now Mongoose 2300AD has been added to my very long wish list of purchases.

Again thanks for providing the right solution.

I Feel you. After a verry deep financial scrub I saw my reality and was able to cut down my wish list to just Judge Dredd Miniature game and Traveller.

From what I understand though times are getting tough for a lot of countries, not just us Americans.
