Movement traits

Are there any differences between normal vehicle movement and trait (wheeled/tracked)movement besides distance moved and having to use ready to go from normal movement to trait movement?

I understand the wheeled movement skidding and the fact trait movement must be readied for but what are the disadvantages of a normal move vs. a trait move? It doesn't seem there are any except but movements effect firing. Otherwise I'd have my vehicles going all out every turn.

To me a normal move is a why bother!

Also in order to go from a vehicle trait move to a normal move (slowing down) do you need to use a ready move (braking)?

often the advantage of a move trait is you can shoot at any point during the move, so you move a little faster than say one action of move and you get to shoot, and allows you to dodge from cover to cover..

im going on my memory here from the prevouse version, if im wrong sorry..

as for a normal move why bother, well it may allow you to perform an action that ends out of enemy reaction range ? then shoot from cover !

No. The Ready action is only necessary to use the special movement.
