Mongoose Joins Forces with Rebellion for Evolution Games

But they don't actually own the rights to that, they just made a computer game of it... Wasn't that another Sony Tristar movie?

The significance of this is alot more choices for Mongoose.

We've been mad about alot of the sculpts for quite some time. Plenty of talent over at Rebellion for design and development of the AD2000 line.
Consider a prepainted Judge Dredd Game, Rebellion designed Skinnies, Judge Dredd Evo., etc.

In being able to up the ante in distribution, we can probibly see a chance at another CGI, possibly some new choices to take the place of some of the lame sculpts, and a few of the other releases from Rebellion.
Stronium Dog, Johnny Alpha, and with the extention of Rogue Trooper to the video game, you could expand on it as well with producing a few one shot games or some limited edition figs to be distributed in video games, ALA the dungeons and dragons dvd's, or the special ed. figs that came with the City of Hero's game. Table top games of Judges fighting zombies, Wastelands battles, some cool vehicle battle games from the cursed earth.

Using figs to advertise the RPG's/ Table tops could open a couple of avenues for both companies.

Consider the Rebellion mini's already out there, They are by far 110% better then the ones for GOMC1.
Now, you will be able to mix and match the two lines of figs together, combining great sculpts and a variety of already established ones, without wasting alot more time with reinventing the wheel.

Besides the quality, we can probibly start seeing some distribution of some reissued Judge Dredd, not an altogether bad idea when you read some of the kick ass story lines from back in the day.
Marvel just straight up blows dog chunks compaired to AD 2000. The only reason that it isn't popular in the states is that it isn't very well known here. I for one welcome a darker and more fast moving mag with great stories and carachters, that wont be the same old sorry BS. With Mongooses distribution, Wait till we can start getting some AD 2000 in your local shops!

As for the BF Evo, consider Rebellions track record with video games, now instead of playing table top versions of BF2, you can now start playing a few more personal and in depth games of Maybe some Dirty Dozen type games, a Blackhawk down/ warlord fight, more varieties of figs, Maybe some based on Aliens/ Predator, possibilities of every extention of playing games and watching a few cool new options come to life that may just save Mongoose, by instilling a little schedueling discipline, producing grander scale projects on a better budget, and being able to deliver what is promised.

Great Job Mongoose, this may by far be one of your best decisions yet! :P :P :P :P :P :P

Speaking of rogue trooper, the xbox game can be played on the 360, and its a great game, great controls, and the "from behind " kill camera is well done, one of the best of its kind in shooter type games in a long time, got good reviews, just people did not know who rogue trooper was...
The idea of leaving your rifle behind on a tripod to attack the enemys has you was off somewhere else on the battlefield was a great idea..

For the future
A SD mini game would be stunning, based on Gangs or even Evo would be better, as i have already mixed the two myself for a test...

Rogue Trooper Evo, would be cool, and will destroy wizkids halo game hands down....

Well time will tell, but after getting JD, its time for more 2000AD fun....

Scip, you really didn't need to make a thread for this. You could have easily posted your opinions here in the reasonable manner.

I do think the idea you present of mongoose being in some financial trouble and partnering up is valid, but the way you present this doesn't help your argument at all.

i think its not financial trouble, but financial investment more than anything if finance has anything at all to do with it.

but i feel at times that ScipioAmericanus is a bit of a GW troll and wishes to spread fear and contempt for any company that threatens any thing he plays.

thats or he needs to become more optemistic in life :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I've been nothing but reasonable.

I have no argument...I'm just stating my opinions.

As for starting another thread, well, I have absolutely ZERO interest in BF:Evo. I did order one squad of Marines so I could comment on the quality: if they're good I'll be more than happy to admit it. The MGP emphasis is on BF:Evo right now, so why shouldn't I post HERE since this game will impact SST?

My LOVE is SST. I make no secret of the fact that I think MGP totally f*cked it. From an Origins Award winner to "you can't find it on shelves anywhere"...who's fault is that? Not mine. I demo'd and demo'd and demo'd and the response was always the same: "Good game, sh*t figures, no fluff."

Ya know, I've put my heart and soul into SST from the start. I did so much artwork that will never be seen (decals for instance), that I'm starting to get pretty tired of people telling me that I'm not supporting the game. Well...I DID MY PART. I left. I'm back, and I want SST to be a great game.

Blind acceptance to whatever MGP pushes out won't make it happen.

Whatever.

SST will be better as a game

and with the 3d modling from this new venture the minis should be a darn sight better as well.

have you played BF-evo ? a def improvment on SST and i can see SST-evo being better again.

its like me moaning about the house im going to live in in 20 years time, i have no real idae bar the basics what it will be like !!!

Honestly, it was a pretty decent game in the beginning....sure, there are some random issues with the rules that...well...they were written in English, which in of itself has cuased several horrible wars... ;)

Wow!!!! You're so astute that I'm actually scared! Not! "GW troll?"

Come up with a new slam: Evil has already told me I'm not OPTOMISTIC.

Try originality: hmmm...maybe that I have a deep-seated secret loathing for SH*T MINIATURES, BROKEN PROMISES, ENDLESS PREVARICATION, and OUT-AND-OUT LIES? Yeah. That'd work...

yeah now I have two topics to watch :D

I agree with Hiro incidently, I didnt hear people calling SST a broken unbalanced system a year and a half ago, now the new editions out though everyones jumping on the bandwagon :D

Yeah, really makes you wonder why, if the rules were so hoplessly broken, the Evo rules are just a streamlined version of them :D

I donno...it feels like Bonzai.... the origional rules are this beautiful, if complex, bonzai tree.... the Evolution is the same tree after someone took a weed whacker to it...
