Matt - a new sub-board for homebrew/house rules please? :)

It would seem there is a lot of confusion happening in posts where people are arguing without realising one side is quoting homebrew rules and the other is using RAW.

Also, and more importantly, a lot of people are throwing their home/preferred rules in the mix. There may be some gems in there so it would be good to have some organization and seperation from actual rules and universe discussions :)

It would at least give people the opportunity to contain these discussion in an area that wouldn't be confusing. As for homebrew rules in current threads - of course! you can discuss your rule - link your thread and thats it. But we wouldn't be having brand new posts on rules all over the place.

If you look now, there are a ton of posts on homebrew rules...

So which rules as written? And alongside that which cannon? To ask the loaded question; Is Traveller the Rules or is it the Setting?

The Grognard in me says, what is this need for organisation, we rambled in the old days, so we should ramble now.....

But mostly I want to point out a lot of the rules define the universe and the reverse. The rules of thumb I use are taken out of my professional work and as such the form a vastly different universe than the "rules" do. With that having a torrent of information to drop said ideas in is good it allows for other preconceived notions to be exposed as well as my own as in relation to our Grand old Game.

And finally a lot of of tightly conceived "sub" boards is a good way to choke off traffic with procedure. Plus the topic you want to stick in those ghettos tend to leak a lot....

I did have ur points in the back of my head and your response further reinforces them.

So I'm in agreement. Perhaps then, just to have some organization, when someone is starting a thread based on house rules or introducing house rules they can tag it or something, example:

[House Rule] Ship building and weapon mounts
