I'd say TDFSR is probably the best thing to come out of West End Games' attempt to broaden the play styles of Paranoia with all that Reboot / Alpha Base malarkey. Sadly the route they took just wasn't very Paranoid which rather defeated the point (and it was just sticking plasters over the wound of the Crash). What good there was in the later line, mostly came from Ed Bolme - who of course wrote this novel.
It's not a good fit for the current line, and moreover, Mongoose seem to have moved away from West End reprints with the 2009 edition (after paying due respect to it with the 2004/XP line's two Flashbacks books). But I would still like to see it reprinted, so more people can enjoy it.
All the adventures in both Flashbacks volumes are in the Classic play style -- in fact, they defined that style. They are universally considered some of -- actually, most of -- the funniest writing ever seen in the roleplaying field.
What about a PDF from drivethrurpg.com? You can always print off the adventure you're planning to run. Failing that it's a case of buying a second-hand copy... don't pay Amazon rates though, your best bet is ebay!
It is awesome. I have a hardcopy myself, listed on Amazon.co.uk for way more than they go on ebay, but if it does sell I'm going to buy the PDF with the profits
