M2 Bradley stats

What do you think of the the following stats for the M2a2 Bradley

Hit 8+
Save 3+
Kill 10+

Main gun 3x6+2
Tow 1XD10+4 (must ready to fire) ( Advanced missle that makes a terminal manuver and hits top armor)

i think main gun should go to 2D6+2 just foir the fact it can shoot for 2 actions

the tow would probably have the same stat line as the shadows versions so wouldnt need a ready action but could only fire once per turn.

just my feeling

TOW can only be fired from stationary.
Was going to say that. Switch from a ready action to simply: Unit cannot do a Move action immediately prior to it's shoot action. Also, one shot per round, no reaction - standard big AoE stuff.

I'd probably drop the TOW to D10+3
Drop the main gun to 3xD6+1 as it is closest to the PLA FAV main gun in concept.

Where have you seen the stats for the FAV. Also, I have heard talk of the command squad abilities, but I have not seen any stats out.

I would think that the Bradleys Kill no should be less than the Warrior - currently they seem to be surviving combat in Iraq better than the Bradley, but then they would be easier to kill than the WZ which is just a wheeled bus......

a wheeled bus that floats thank you :D

M2A2 Bradley IFV

Cost 200 points
Size 4
Move 7" - marginally slower than M1A2 Abrams
Close Combat 4xD10

Target 8+
Armor 2+
Kill 10+

M242 25mm Chain Gun
Range 40" 3xD6+1

M240 7.62mm Coaxial MG
Range 30" 3xD6

TOW II AT Missile System
Range 40" D10+3
The Bradley must be stationary when firing this missile system, none of its 2/3 actions may include Movement. (maybe only use against vehicle or emplacement targets?)
2 shot system, although 7 missiles carried in total the mechanics of realoading probably go over the idea of just making a simple system.

The Bradley may carry up to 6 size 1 models. Models may mount the Bradley simply by moving on to it, and may leave with a Move action in the same way. If models either enter or leave the Bradley, then both the models and the Bradley may only take a single action in that turn. If the Bradley is destroyed, every model on board will immediately suffer a D6-1 Damage Dice.

Firing ports - when embarking infantry up to 2 soldiers may use firing ports located in the rear of the Bradley to fire their M16A4 Assault Rifles (targets to the rear only)

Save is too high, should be 3+?
Not aware of anyone ever being hit by fire from rifle firing ports, one reason why the Warrior did not bother with them

Then amend as you feel it right :)

Quite right, but the Bradley needs something different than just a Warrior clone. It would be one antidote to the vehicle being charged from the rear. One could limit the effective firing range to say 10".

I agree the the AT punch is the key feature. The firing ports hardly matter really. I am not sure though at the moment if this is all that balanced. One would have to run a few tests of 2 M2A2s vs. 1 M1A2 (or Challenger) as point wise it stacks up roughly, but wether this is a a good balance.
TOW gives it enhanced striking power at the expense of movement. Maybe 200 points is too little and this needs to be readjusted upwards to 250. An IFV with an AT capability is that worth 50 or 100 or 125 points more?

I am curious why you gave the 25mm different stats from the PLA APC and its 25mm?

Otherwise I think you are on the right track.

Are you going to limit 2 1 TOW shot per turn...it seems that all of the other D10 weapons are limited this way.

This was actually a suggestion by Paladin earlier on. Given the game is set in the near future some better 25mm ammo will have been developed. In any case there is a variety of different 25 ammo around for the USA/USMC.

Yes I would say so.

If you are giving it the M242, M240 & TOW the unit is going to be a lot closer to 300 pts than 200. It has massive anti-infantry and deadly anti-tank plus APC ability. Look at the Tunguska it has 8d6 MG with weaker armor and is 280. Surely the d10 AA ability isn't that expensive.
