Longevity

Well, assuming you were a person who planned ahead. Just like today when there are people in their 50s with no retirement planning and haven't saved a dime for their future, I assume there will be people in similar situations in the 2340s when Clement Sector is set.

The effects of a perpetually youthful society is something that's pretty interesting.

In a way, people saving for retirement is because everyone knows as you grow older, your opportunities decline ... because you grow old and all the negative connotations that implies (inability to learn, inflexibility in thinking, declining physical health).

However, if everyone remains perpetually young, perhaps hardly anyone would really plan for retiring, people just drifting in and out of careers continually as the whim strikes them. Things like mutual funds and so on might vanish because with longer lifespans they might not be economical anymore (or rampant inflation from all the money everyone has would devalue such funds).
