Long Range Tsarget System

If you roll the Long Range Target System refit and you have a 1 AD weapon, can you apply this since it states that you halve all AD and round down. Would you still get 1 AD?

Thanks

You would still get 1AD when firing in its normal range, though. The refit effectively does nothing... waste of XP.

True, although there aren't any refits I know of that can increase the AD of a 1AD weapon... they all say minimum of 4AD or whatever.

Wonder if you can use your 0AD weapon to reduce stealth?

Maybe you could from one point of view but I'd also say technically you can't as otherwise you'd just allocate 0AD on all Stealth ships in range every turn with every ship!

Very true ;)
I think the criteria for getting the stealth bonus was "rolling at least one AD" wasn't it? Meaning you can't declare out of arc or out of range weapons, either.

It would be fun though...
"Captain! The finest minds of our society have managed to arm your ship with this!"
"What is it?"
"The galaxy's longest ranged laser pointer!"

I'm sure it would be a great weapon if they came across a feline type species...

Nope, you now have a 0 AD weapon with increased range.

May as well lean out a window and shout "ZAP!!!" (The exclaimation marks show that it is a triple damage 0 AD weapon)

Oh, hang on, sound doesn't carry in space does it.

Thats real space you are thinking about, not sci-fi space.

I actually like when a movie or show does space right. Massive space battles would be extreamly strange events because of the lack of sound carrying. You could watch your buddy's fighter get fragged right next to yours and it would be totally silent other than the screams over the radio. Hulls would blow apart quietly until the shockwave impacted against your ship causing the vibrations to be translated into the sounds of a dying vessel.
