Liandra minis used as Nolo'Tars

Do you think it's OK to use a Liandra mini to represent a Nolo'Tar

  • Use either, so long as you point out a Liandra that IS a Liandra

  • Never, you must use Nolo'Tar minis for Nolo'Tars

The Liandra is much more in scale for a Skirmish PL ship.

So would anyone adamantly protest if someone used Liandra minis to represent Nolo'Tars in a game?

I agree with you and it wouldn't bother me. :)

I'm all for using whatever miniature you feel works for the image you are trying to create for your fleet, and what best suites the bank account...

I actually prefer the Liandra miniature for its scale. I certainly wouldn't have any problem with you doing this :)

I mean the Nolo is a nice looking mini, I think the khaki/camo paint job sdoesn't do the detailing justice, but the Liandras are 2 to a pack, each pack is a little cheaper and are much more in scale to a WS.

I'm considering what fleets to spend money on and Crusade EA may lose out to extra ISA ships, but then what to do with the Chronoses I have????

Picket line for a VCD I think

EDIT: Thanks for stopping by with your opinions, the more the merrier, it'd be nice to see what the community consensus is.

A unique ship is packaged two to a blister? Am I the only one that sees that as strange?
ROFL!

I'd say its fine to use a Liandra as a Nolo'Tar, as long as your fleet doesn't include a real Liandra as well.

you seriously started this as a thread!? post whore!!
um, see my various responses on several other threads within which i have seen this discussed :-)

and can anyone see the point when we knowLBH will only be using tokens

The only thing to avoid is using the same "kind" of mini for 2 different ships, which would certainly be confusing and leading to nightmare.

Except that I've no objection on changing minis use if it's clear who's who.

I was going to use that gag, Hiff, but the two-unique-ships-to-a-pack approach seemed more original... :P

Well I might have done so, but the Liandra would have a very different colour scheme to the Nolo'Tars the other Liandra minis were proxying for (Yes I do intend to paint them)

But we do that all the time with the different variant ships.

Well today I forced myself to rewatch Legend of the Rangers to get the best look possible at the Liandra. I also had a good close look at the Nolo'Tar and Liandra minis I have.

The Liandra and Nolo'Tar are subtly different, but enough that I could tell the minis apart even if they were of the same size. Also the Liandra mini is lacking some underside detail we see in LotR, but that's by the by.

I don't know how many more Nolos or Liandras I'll buy, but the Nolo mini is beginning to grow on me.
