Knockback effects on bikes

I've been wondering about the effect of Powershot attacks and the 2" pushback from melee attacks on bike riders. This doesn't seem to be covered in the rules so I was wondering if someone might clarify it for me.

With normal vehicles you can't target passengers so it's not an issue however with bikes you can. Would a bike rider be effected by the knock back/push effect of these attacks as the rules don't seem to explicitly state that they have no effect. It does make sense from a realism point of view ie winning a combat against a bike rider allows you to kick him off and continue the fight on the ground. Shooting someone in the face with a Stumpgun could blast them off the back of their bike. The rules as written just don't cover this as a yes or know so I was hoping to get an official ruling on it

I like it as a house rule, if nothing else, because it makes sense and adds a cool cinematic effect.

This is likely one for the FAQ. I'll have to ponder for an official answer but, semi-offically (!) I would tend to say no Knockbacks on Bikes as a) it is easier in play and b) you may not always have the relevant miniature on foot.

However, if you want to house rule otherwise, you very much have our blessing!

The house rule that we use is, if you cause a knockback on a vehicle it counts as a critical instead.
