Just want to say thanks, Mongoose

Mongoose
I got my replacement book three today which is also missing section 192. So (as with book 4) my replacement was rather pointless.

Keep it up, you're doing a stirling job folks.

Don't forget though, we're on your side here.

It's pointless being nasty like this, especially when there are threads you could have added your disappointment to, and done in a more direct way

They made a mistake.

You were just deliberately cruel.

Try to remember that real people read these posts, especially someone like matt after long days, I am sure

Even if you are annoyed, what makes you special compared to the rest of us? I would have hoped as a community we would be above making new thread posts like this just to stand out - everyone else has similar problems with the shipment, just we try to work out what can be done to help and hope the situation is resolved. Pissing people off isn't going to help anything.

For one, it was a minor attempt to try and help them stop wasting their money. If, even with all the other threads, dud replacements are still being sent out then they should be told, bluntly. It's pointless and is costing them money.

That way they should actually cotton on and try and save themselves a few pennies whilst rectifying the errors.

And yeah, real people read the posts. I doubt very much that I sent any of them off crying with my extremely cruel post, exception noted.

If you had read the forums where you are posting these snide remarks you would have been told in no uncertain terms that the missing section is not going to corrected in this print revision, and if section 192 is important then you should wait for a new reprint (if there is one.)

It is currently pointless to ask for a replacement book for the missing section 192. If you had told them that it was for the missing section 192 you wanted a replacement you would no doubt have been told that they had no books in stock with a section 192.

I can only assume your book had another printing error, or Mongoose were nice enough as to not ask you to send in proof to the effect that the book had a manufacture defect.

I did mention the missing section in e-mails to Matthew...

And yes, as mentioned in my first post - I'm still on their side. I want the issues sorted like they do and I want to save them money. So yes, whilst being extremely grateful for the service and replacements, I do think it is pointless to send out copies as replacements when they themselves are not correct. I mean, really, what is the point? It's just costing them money.

Think we're all pulling in basically the same direction here. I for one would much rather have a complete series of 32 books than the alternative, regardless of the number of errors, provided it is still playable.

Ok, so I'm coming late to this discussion, and I apologize for making someone repeat themselves, but I can't find this information:

So, it sounds like the errors in Books 3 and 4 will not be corrected in this printing...does that mean there will not be a hardcopy, collector's edition of these titles without these errors, or that there will be, but not for a while?

I'm somewhat torn. As a huge Lone Wolf geek I'd like to own all the books in a nice hard copy fashion, but if they won't be available without mistakes I might stick with my old edition paperbacks.

Thanks for any help or clarification.

From what I understand, if they are to make a new print run for the hardbacks, they are going to correct these errors. However, seeing that they are Collector's Edition, I don't know if they will make a new run or if they are going to stop to publish them (I seem to remember that only 500 copies of each book in its CE version were going to be available). On the other hand, the softbacks will likely be without these errors.

agreed, most of the errors are pretty negligible. I'm just praying that they continue to follow through and finish without having to cancel!

So us Mega deal customers lose out? I've been a long time collector and have many unique Lone Wolf items from Joe himself and also have pretty much every edition of each book ever published. Could call me a collector of sorts

But now I don't know whether my heart is in it - anyone fancy Lone Wolf rarities? :P

To be perfectly honest, the errors do not make the books unplayable - once you have the correct Book 3 that is! And the originals had several errors too don't forget, especially in the GM series on.

Given that the hard-books look fantastic and have some brilliant mini-adventures, I whole-heartedly recommend them. They look good on your shelf and are worth the money.

They wouldn't do that, would they? Could they? I hope not; finishing the Grand Master series is the main reason I signed up for the Mega-deal. Don't know what I'd do if they cancelled - throw myself off a Shadow Gate.

I have a few ideas for what the final four would be and I don't want to know so I'll be staying away from the Forums, being blindfold and putting the pillow over my eyes in the run up to them coming out - that'll take some explaining to my boss...

Lets just say I'm sure Joe will tie everything together. Will the fragile balance of Magnamund finally shift in the direction of Good and Ishir and Kai win the God War? I don't know but I'm looking forward to cool new places and great new equipment too! 8) :D :P

You could have played them on Projectaon - but it's not the same as actually having a book in front of you. But Projectaon have done a wonderful job getting some very rare material together and making it easy to access, as well as providing the base work for the new books. If it weren't for them, there would be no reprints.
