Is my Augmented Magrail Pistol Monster Idea RAW for 2e?

This is the Second Rule I have added:

Weapons Used by Additional Manipulator Augments Including Grapples and Dual Weapon attacks:

Weapons can be used by Additional Manipulators in attacks. However, normally an attacker can only attack with a limit of 2 limbs or additional manipulators due to limits imposed by the biological brain. This can be overcome with clever use of computers using Intellect and Expert Software to make their own independent attacks. Requirements for this are as follows:

  • Additional Manipulator Augment
  • Neural Link or Jack Augment with computer2+ Running Intellect 2+ (if two manipulators)
This Intellect coordinates with the Intellects on the Intelligent Weapons to move the manipulators.
  • Weapon with Intelligent Weapon Accessory with Computer/2+ Running Intellect/1 and Expert/1+.
This Intellect co-ordinates with the intellect on the Neural Jack to fire the weapon at targets using the Combat Expert. The Expert must be either Gun Combat or Melee Combat with the correct specialization.

Remember the skill is -1 the level of the expert (ie. Expert/3 = skill 2 and expert 1 = skill 0)
  • P-HUD Accessory with Weapons Module on all weapons to be used by manipulator.
This is required for the systems to see their targets.

If using this combination of hardware and software, each manipulator makes its own attack based on the Expert level of Gun Combat. Note that the max computer ability of an Intelligent Weapon is Computer/3, thus with this it could only run its Intellect/1 and Gun or Melee Combat Expert/2 at maximum giving an effective skill of 1 but still receiving +1 for the P-HUD, plus the Characteristic DM of the Manipulator. Autofire still grants additional attacks equal to the autofire rating of the weapons.

Dual Weapons:
If attempting a Dual Weapon attack using additional manipulators or limbs the following applies:
  • The max number of limbs or manipulators natural or augments that can be operated by a character is 2.
  • The max number of manipulators that can be operated by Intellect software is 1 per level of Intellect via the Neural Link/Jack.
  • In both cases, using more than one imposes the -2 dual weapon modifier.
  • If the character is attacking with limbs, while using Intellect to attack with manipulators, either dual or single, there is a further -2 difficulty modifier imposed on the Intellect software to try to make its attack around the movement of the character’s body and limbs, which is added to any dual weapon attack modifier to become -4.
Grappling:
Extra limbs or manipulators to use in a grapple to grab with; if you have 1 or more extra limbs to use in the grapple, you get a +1 and any characteristic DM the limb or manipulator might have. These extra limbs used to better chances in a grapple may not be used to deliver weapons damage either in cuffs or weapons mounts.

Regarding Autofire and grappling. I cannot see how you cannot give autofire its due when having your weapon set to it and firing point blank into your target. I do think armor gets to reduce though with each damage roll. Here is my interpretation for now:

Grapples and Autofire:

Before a character tries to use a grapple with the weapons damage option, if the weapon (or weapons plural if using Mounts or HF-Cuffs) have an Autofire trait, they must specify what mode their weapons are set to (single, burst, full auto). It takes a minor action to change settings of one limb’s weapons or a free action if Neural Linked/Jacked and using Intelligent weapons. If the grapple succeeds, and weapons are set to full auto, the attacker gets to roll normal damage for one of the full auto attacks, subtract armor, apply effect, then go on to roll damage for another attack doing the same up to the autofire rating of the weapon(s). As in Core rules for grapples, the success of the grapple attack assumes that all the “attacks” of the autofire succeed. No additional attack rolls are needed.

If you want the above you could build it with the robot handbook. It could be a stationary size 3 robot that you strap on like a backpack. It would have extra manipulators. It could have fire control to enable it to coordinate multiple weapon attacks (and multiple fire controllers if you want to link more than 4 weapons). It would only need a basic brain as discussed previously (or even a Primitive (Homing)) that could be commanded by voice or a neural comm if you wanted to be discrete (well as discrete as you could be with a mass of tentacle arms sticking out of your coat).

As the brain is conducting the attacks though it shouldn't get the benefit of the auto hit in grapple. However you could just take the option of throwing your opponent to do damage and then command your robot as a minor action to open up. At short range with good enough fire control systems you could be getting +6 on your attack roll which is an automatic hit (and more likely would result in bonus damage for effect). Of course you wouldn't even need to grapple first.

You could also use those manipulators for other tasks (possibly with a more advanced brain).

8 manipulators with two fire control systems plus your own hands would give you the 10 gun capability. That would require an 8 slot robot (droyne sized) which might be a bit big (unless it was part of a battle suit). In addition linked weapons all use the same attack roll and do not roll damage independently instead each additional weapon adding +1 damage per dice of damage.

If you wanted to have 8 rolls each doing the full damage of the weapon you would need 8 separate fire controllers (each of which take up a slot). This would be very expensive and bulky.

A size 1 (rat sized) worn robot could have a single oversized manipulator* (you need size 3 to wield a pistol) and a fire control system and a basic targeting brain. The most expensive component would be the Fire Control system and could run you KCr100's. If you were on a budget however you could get away with using the robots native DEX (which could be amplified relatively cheaply). A TL13 based robot with Gun Combat-2 would cost 1KCr* (and would make a reasonable pistol equipped sentry gun). Each robot would operate independently and thus would get it's own attack with full damage.

It depends on how many rats you could wear at a time :)

EDIT
*You can drive the price down further if you get fit a weapon mount in the body and leave the manipulators as size 1. That would also leave a spare slot that you could use for an autoloader or give the robot locomotion.
Honestly, I need to really deep dive into robots, test the design rules and get back to you on this one. I have the book but I have barely cracked it open. I have only used it to shop for engineers. lol.
