beat him 17-3

Snazzlefrazzlesnashifrack, 6..6...6...6...6....6....6...6 next time I need to roll a character for an in-house RPG campaign I'm going to borrow your dice!

Mind you by then I was totally knackered and lmy brain was no longer working properly. Wait 'til next time (got to sort out a PROPER fleet.....). Good win by you, though, congrats.
Somebody's not at all bitter

But point taken, gloating over.

i was going to post this a few days ago but thanks to various internet problems that have just been fixed i've had to wait until now

okay my disasterous fleet for the tournament was
Tikrit
Targrath
Ochlavita
Omelos
2 Jashakars
3 Thoruns

First game was against Centauri, i learnt one thing from this game, NOT MEASURING EXACT DISTANCES CAN COST YOU, my plan of sneaking round the asteroids to avoid the forward arcs of a Tertius and a Prefect and various Vorchats went badly when i found out that although it looked "about 16-17 inches(ish)" it was infact 19" and so my fleet was a sitting duck for a turn, i nearly came back into it but due to running out of time and a (un)lucky critical against my ochlavita i lost

second game against Triggys Drakh, i hate facing drakh because they managed to do so much damage so quickly!!! Pilot of the match has to go to the Final Thorun who took down a Light Cruiser with help from a few Criticals

Third game against Earth, 6 Sagittarius's and 4 Hyperions with no asteroids on the table. Dilgar hate Earth because they have interceptors which totally blocked an entire round of shooting against a Sagittarius (that and 30 Missiles came my way in turn 1 and destroyed the Tikrit) after that it over with nowhere to hide

Final game against Narns, this started well until the Ochlavita did too much damage than i expected it too at a really bad time (when the ship that exploded was right in the middle of my fleet) the result of which was a Targrath with Speed 0, a badly damaged Omelos and Ochlavita which died soon after. It was looking bad but the Tikrit did its job and after finding a good use for the "all stop and pivot" SA it came back and destroyed a G'Karith for a 25-20 win (which was wrongly put in the results table which credited the Narns for the win)

which means the bottom of the results table should have looked like this
Position Name Fleet Total
18 Roy Oliver Shadows 49
19 Nick Robinson Narn 46
20 Peter Perry ISA 46
21 Nicholas Kummer Centauri 45
22 Michael Parkin Narn 45
23 Paul Davies Dilgar 42
24 David Rawlings ISA 41

which would have meant i wouldnt have come last (but only by 1 point)

But then you would not have gotten your splendid booby prize!

Yeah, I need to give up on winning and trying harder to lose, I've missed out on tones of potential prizes

A copy of Thud would have been lovely too.

If all goes to plan then we may have another Call to Arms event in November! Don't forget to vote on the thread in the Mongoose Discussion forum :)

Well technically I could, but I really don't have the money to buy a meal every time I want a drink

Roll on sweet, sweet 18, only... 8 months to go!
