Into the Fire II Tournament - Can't Be Here?

Just thought it was interesting that there was the observation of a lot of Centauri given the return to a lot of SFoS stats...

!

Actually that is no more Centauri than were present at the two previous tournaments.
The real change is the big drop in Minbari and ISA players. At the last tourney there were 0 Narn, 1 League and 1 Vorlon.
Then there was a pretty equal mix of EA, Centauri, ISA and Minbari.

However I'm not the least bit surprised that the Centauri players were taking Tertius and Prefects.
I wonder if the guys who accused us of saying those ships were a bit good will continue to stand by that?

as i've said b4 and wil lsay again the tertius is fine, there was only 2 that i saw anyway. the prefect was there in abundance tho, this ships needs an AD dropping off its beam to make you think wether its worth it or not.

Just to chip in

ALthough I found myself against a Centauri fleet with Tertius and Prefects I wasnt really all that fussed, yes I did get my head handed to me and it was somewhat annoying having to shoot at hull 6 but ce la vie, why not wait for another few tourney reports and then see what the outcome is.

Sometimes ships seem uber hard because you've just played against them with something completely no suited for it.

i would also say that my dargan was one of my most dangerous ships due to its speed and manouverability, in one game going up against 2 whitestars and attending fighters unsupported.

Well the same thing was reported after Wheel of Fire last year, just not noticed as much because the Minbari and uber Whitestars dominated that tourney.
However the best placed Centauri featured Prefects and Tertius

i had one of each yes, but i beat a 4 prefect fleet, i beat a 2 prefect and a tertius fleet. the prefect needs toning down slightly, like i said 1 less AD on its beam but thats about it. too many people complain about the centauri but dont look at their own fleets.
dont forget the centauri are supposed to be beam happy after all they are the second most advanced race in the galaxy, and anyway reaverman had far more beams than me.

Well I can't be accused of that as I play Centauri! :P

Goes to show that the Centauri have some solid ships

will say that reavermans fleet scared the hell out of me, really didnt know how i was gonna beat it, something like 38AD of beams to my measly 11, and more side guns than even my terius on just a skirmish ship, altho hit his ships and they crumple.

Hey, maybe the next tourney I might get a chace to return the compliment...I got to admit, the look on you face was a picture though

Talking about pictures, anyone got some?

matt was taking some at the start i believe, guess he has all the fleets made up of actual models which i think was about everyones apart from LBHs

Hey all,

First off, cracking tournament, best fun I've had of all 3, and I got max gentleman points this time, of which I am very proud, I was most disappointed in myself last time.

I played ISA, 5 White stars:

WS-2 Wedge
WS-3 Biggs
WS-5 Luke
WS-1300 Han
WS-1301 Chewie

wish I'd played David's ISA a WSC-2, a WS with Sheridan and allies, that might have been fun. I wish I'd played Low Roller, we always have fun. I'm kind of glad I never played Reborn or I might have not maxed my sportsmanship points

I played, if memory serves

game 1 : Steve Wilson (katadder) 3-17 to me
game 2: Michael Parkin (???) 13-7 to me
game 3: Greg Smith (Greg Smith) 3-17 to me
game 4: greg Payne (??) 3-17 to me

I have to say my most enjoyable game was against Greg, even thouigh my Neutron Laser never could hit anything. We both made a few silly mistakes but it was fun.

Hats off to Steve for winning, I never could make a stealth roll on that Corvan could I?

Good game Michael, moreso because I won?

Greg P, sorry if I seemed tired, I was, the last game of the day was a killer.

The Sunflower cafe Brigade was well represented, and the Dead Drazi party in the Swiss cottage afterwards was great fun.

Hope to see you all next time
