India as a Future Faction?

DM

Mongoose
Given her rapidly developing status as a world class player and her proximity to both China and the anticipated Evo "playground", would India be worth considering as a future faction?

(apologies if this has been raised elsewhere - I'm a bit behind on posts to this forum :) )

Actually Pakistan and India eliminate eachother in a brief nuclear exchange in 2013, which, incidently, also eliminates tibet and some southern chinese proivinces.

Yeah it does kinda make sense when you consider the rate at which the economy is growing over there, and its gotta hell of a population...
Although to be honest you can't handle India without addressing Pakistan, and that would probably involve some indepth fluff at the very least...

That reminds me of another question I had - any thoughts on whether the full rules will cover CBRN?

That would all make for an interesting campaign...
Pakistan with MEA militia and conventional forces available vs Indias PLA style army with militia of their own. Sort of broad strokes being painted but could be cool.

Seriously, do I have to cryogenically freeze myself until this game comes out?! Feels like forever.

Me too, but I suspect that displays ou luddite tendencies - CBRN reflects the current NATO view on the subject :)

Unfortunately I suspect the future battlefield could be a bit more "dirty" than of late (and not necessarily deliberately so)

Probably not....

Course, I perfer NBC myself...it makes more sense than CBRN.

If the US as anal as the CF on adopting this new acronym? I have submitted opaperwork with NBC on it and it gets returned as apparently NBC is no longer recognized....oie!

Tell me about it - at least its a relatively simple "find and replace" in Word :)

Mind you, I still have to pick up staff on correct terminology even after several years,a nd not just in this subject!

USAF has been referring to it as CBRN-E for some reason. Was so jacked up on Monster and Reeses PB Cups in the class I don't remember any of the presentation.

I'll probably have to do it again next month as it is. Will advise.

IIRC CBRNE is "Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive"

Just about covers all the bases (except Ballistic I guess) :)

IIRC "nuclear" includes thermal and overpressure effects, making it distinct from "radiological" (which can include, amongst other things, accidental damage of radiological equipment such as X ray machines)

IIRC it was just a powerpoint presentation with the freakshow pics of kids with smallpox, a marine who let a lit m-80 go off in his mouth (removing his lower jaw) and some nuke stuff that they got from the discovery channel.

a decent presentation. but like i said... i was cranked up.

CBRNEBK

Chemical
Biological
Radiological
Nuclear (redundent?)
Explosive
Ballistic
Kinetic

And Pot Noodle can fit into all of these categories as an offensive weapon.
