Idea: fix double and triple damage weapons

Yes -12 speed, a triple damage hit through the fuel system should do that :) It is effectively widening the range of the "speed 0", except very fast ships will still have a little speed.

No firing from 3 random arcs, now that could be nasty ;)
 
What happens if the Ship has speed 10 and get after youre exampel -12 does it fly backwards? No just kidding.
I think that this speed crits shoud be cumulativ.
 
That would be rude. I have seen so many low order speed hits inflicted in one game it's not even funny. Combining them would make most ships immobile in only a couple of crits.
I mean EA bore sight heavies are sufficiently bad, let's not make them useless after first exchange of fire.

Maybe but those small crits are just "not crits" no damage no crew loss (or nearly nothing) and the special effects do not stack.

If you don't want to change the crit table (and I agree with that) it's easy to say : 4AD double --> 8 throw and count bulkhead as usual, standard hit doubled as usual and keep crits not doubled.

This way of doing means you don't want crits to make damages you want them to incapacitate your opponent.

8 "normal" AD would give the same amount of crits but bulkhead would be 0 and solid hits would just be as usual so a DD/TD or QD will do more damages instead of half dice * DD = the same as normal weapon but with less crits...
